Q-tech is partnering with a fast-growing international SaaS company opening a new engineering hub in Barcelona. We seek a Staff Engineer to own backend work on security management, APIs and integrations for a platform used by demanding private capital clients.

The role focuses on Ruby on Rails backend with high ownership and impact. You’ll mentor peers, drive reliability, and participate in architecture and security decisions while enjoying a hybrid setup and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Expertise in OAuth 2.0 is required.
• Backend-focused role with ownership on security and APIs.
• Experience with scalable security-driven architecture is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design backend systems across IAM, APIs, and integrations with security and reliability at scale.
• Provide security leadership across the application and product.
• Lead architectural decisions for features, refactors, or integrations with security focus.
• Diagnose and resolve critical login/auth issues for customers.
• Deliver features end-to-end from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Mentor peers and share knowledge.
• Drive system reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Participate in architecture discussions with engineering leadership.

Q-tech is colaborating with a fast-growing international SaaS company that is opening a new engineering hub in Barcelona and is looking for a Staff Engineer.

This is a backend-focused role with high ownership and real impact, working on Security management, APIs and integrations for a platform used by some of the most demanding customers in the private capital space.

We are seeking experienced developers who would like to work in Ruby on Rails (not previous experience required).

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Expertise in OAuth 2.0

What you’ll work on

• Design, build and iterate on backend-heavy systems across IAM, APIs, internal and external integrations, ensuring security, privacy and reliability at scale.
• Provide security leadership across the whole application, resolving issues that affect the product as a whole.
• Lead technical decision-making when designing new features, refactors or integrations where security is a critical factor.
• Diagnose and resolve critical issues, such as customers being unable to log in due to authorization failures.
• Deliver features end-to-end, from design through deployment and monitoring.
• Mentor peers.
• Drive system reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Engage in architecture discussions with wider engineering leadership.
