Job summary

Q-tech is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Digital team that maintains the company’s main customer platform. You will modernize the stack to Spring Boot, React and microservices, build new modules for asset tracking, and handle high-volume data in a multi-tenant, service-oriented environment.

The role offers a hybrid work model with two days in the Barcelona office and a competitive salary of €50,000–€60,000 gross per year, plus health assurance and Azure-related

Qualifications

• Solid experience as a Full Stack Engineer with Java (Spring Boot) and React.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Experience with service-oriented or microservices architectures.
• Methodical, structured engineering approach in regulated environments with quality and security standards.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools is valued.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve features on a platform.
• Lead the platform’s modernization from traditional Java enterprise containers to a modern stack built on Spring Boot, React and microservices.
• Separate and integrate microservices within a service-oriented architecture.
• Help build a new module for automated asset tracking using digital chips, a key part of the customer-facing platform.
• Work with high-volume data.
• Collaborate with the platform’s lead architect who sets guidelines and mentors the team.

At Q-tech, we collaborate with the global leader in reusable packaging containers and pallets for the fresh produce supply chain, whose mission is to make that supply chain sustainable.

They run a closed-loop pooling system with more than 400 million containers in circulation and over 2.5 billion shipments a year. They serve 300+ retailers and 18,000+ growers in more than 50 countries. Their sustainability targets are validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and they aim to be net-zero and zero-waste by 2040.

In 2024 they opened a Digital Hub in Barcelona to drive digital initiatives across the fresh supply chain.

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Digital team that develops the company’s main customer platform. It is a multi-tenant, service-oriented platform that integrates around 30 software products and serves 14,000 weekly active users in 25+ languages, on web and mobile.

Responsibilities

Develop and evolve features on a platform.

Lead the platform’s modernization from traditional Java enterprise containers to a modern stack built on Spring Boot, React and microservices.

Separate and integrate microservices within a service-oriented architecture.

Help build a new module for automated asset tracking using digital chips, part of the platform’s role as the single customer-facing layer for new digital solutions.

Work with high-volume data.

Collaborate closely with the platform’s lead architect, who sets architecture guidelines and provides technical mentoring.

What is offered

Salary: €50,000 – €60,000 gross per year.

Hybrid model: 2 days a week in the Barcelona office.
