Abound is seeking a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to lead technology delivery for Abound Spain. This role will adapt, deploy and operate Abound's lending platform in Spain, ensuring it meets local business, operational and regulatory requirements while remaining aligned with our global technology strategy.

This role combines hands-on software engineering, solution architecture, technical leadership and team management, reporting to the Spain Director and to the Chief Product Officer.

Formación

• Strong experience building and maintaining production systems in Python.
• Experience leading engineering teams or complex technical projects.
• Hands-on engineer with technical leadership.
• Experience designing solution architectures for critical systems.
• Experience adapting platforms for local market regulatory requirements.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, cloud-native architectures.
• Experience integrating third-party providers and external platforms.
• Collaborating with business stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Strong engineering judgment and pragmatic decisions.
• Experience maintaining highly available production environments with reliability and observability.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and manage a small engineering team with coaching and feedback.
• Remain hands-on by contributing to the codebase and leadership best practices.
• Act as the technology owner for Spain, aligning with Abound’s global platform.
• Define architectures leveraging global platform for Spain-specific needs.
• Lead technical implementation of new capabilities for the Spanish business.
• Coordinate internal teams and third-party providers for reliable, scalable solutions.
• Integrating Open Banking, payments, and fraud prevention providers.
• Support engineering through code reviews and guidance.
• Participate in full software development lifecycle from design to production support.
• Helping structure engineering delivery, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Contributing to Business Continuity Planning and operational resilience.
