Serco Space Services in Madrid is seeking a highly capable Full Stack Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software for ESA science missions. You will build backend services, APIs, and modern web apps while collaborating with cross‑mission teams to maximize reuse.

The role involves implementing software architectures, integrating services, and supporting operations from development through routine missions. A strong DevOps mindset and experience with Agile/Scrum are essential.

Formación

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with Java and/or Python.
• Experience with modern frontend development frameworks.
• Experience with REST APIs and distributed architectures.
• Experience with Linux environments and Git-based workflows.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum teams and CI/CD practices.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Good English written and spoken communication.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain software systems for Science Operations Centres.
• Develop backend services, APIs and modern web applications.
• Support software integration, testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-mission teams for reuse and harmonisation.
• Gather requirements from scientific and operational stakeholders.
• Investigate defects, analyze performance and fix issues.
• Support software release activities with DevOps engineers.
• Produce technical documentation throughout the lifecycle.
