Job summary

q.beyond ibérica S.L. in Spain is seeking a Solution Architect Core Services to own target architecture, standards and baselines for the Managed Core Infrastructure, and to approve deviations.

You will standardise Windows and Linux builds, implement identity management, virtualization, core services, deployment and security, and serve as a technical contact in projects and transitions with a focus on ITIL-aligned, 24x7 operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in core/server infrastructure, architecture or lead roles.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and hybrid identity.
• Experience with Azure foundation and IaaS, and Linux server fleets.

Responsibilities

• Own target architecture, standards and baselines for Managed Core Infrastructure.
• Standardise Windows/Linux builds, patching and monitoring with automation.
• Manage identity, access, and hybrid identity with Entra ID and MFA.
• Design virtualization and private/hybrid cloud with Azure integration.
• Ensure core services (DNS/DHCP/NPS, SQL Server) run reliably.
• Lead deployment, security, and ITIL-aligned operations; mentor colleagues.

LAY FOUNDATIONS. ENSURE EFFICIENCY.

YOUR TASKS:

• Architecture & standards: Own the target architecture, standards and versioned baselines for our Managed Core Infrastructure (platform, not applications), and approve any deviations.
• OS & server platform: Standardised builds, hardening, patching and monitoring for Windows and Linux (SLES, RHEL, Ubuntu), automated with SUSE Manager, Ansible and PowerShell.
• Identity & access: Active Directory (GPO, AD FS, PKI, KMS) and hybrid identity with Entra ID (Connect, Conditional Access, MFA), including PAM and least-privilege RBAC.
• Virtualisation & hybrid cloud: Architecture of the virtualisation and private cloud platform and hybrid operation with Azure, working closely with the VM team.
• Core services: DNS, DHCP, NPS, file and print services (ACL, DFS) and the Microsoft SQL Server platform, with enough networking know-how to integrate these end-to-end.
• Deployment & security: Software deployment and patching with MECM, certificate management, server security and the standardised Azure foundation (subscriptions, RBAC, backup).
• Customers & operations: Act as the key technical contact in projects, transitions and pre-sales together with the Service Master, design for reliable 24x7 operation (ITIL), handle technical escalations and mentor colleagues.

WHAT YOU BRING WITH YOU:

• Background: A degree in computer science or a comparable qualification, plus several years in core and server infrastructure, including time in an architecture or lead role (ideally at a managed service provider).
• Expert knowledge:Windows Server and Active Directory (GPO, AD FS, PKI, KMS, DNS/DHCP/NPS)
  Hybrid identity with Entra ID (Conditional Access, MFA, PAM, RBAC)
  Azure foundation and IaaS (subscriptions, RBAC, backup, networking, governance)
• Solid knowledge:Linux fleet operation (SLES, RHEL, Ubuntu)
  Virtualisation and private cloud, including hybrid operation with Azure
  Networking (routing, firewall, VPN, Azure networking)
  MECM for deployment and patch management
  Microsoft SQL Server at platform level
• Automation: Strong PowerShell and Ansible skills (configuration as code).
• Mindset: You think in standards, least privilege and clear boundaries between platform and application, and you have experience designing ITIL-based managed services.
• Communication: You explain complex topics clearly and present confidently to customers and decision-makers.
• Personality: Hands-on, team-oriented and ready to take ownership.
• Languages: Very good German and/or English (B2–C1), since the role is customer-facing.
