Jobgether SRL, on behalf of a partner company, is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Python and Kubernetes, based in Spain. You will build open source operations software for orchestrating workloads on public clouds and private infrastructure.

Work across Linux, containers, and distributed systems with a focus on reliability, testing, and operational excellence. Collaborate with globally distributed teams and participate in travel for team events as needed.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, STEM, or related technical field.
• Strong experience developing software with Python.
• Hands-on Linux systems administration and production operations.
• Experience with at least one public cloud platform.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes and containerized applications.
• Strong focus on software reliability and documentation.
• Interest in distributed systems and open source.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer - Python and K8s based in Spain. This role offers the opportunity to build open source software that transforms how complex information systems are operated across public clouds and private infrastructure. You will develop Python-based operations software designed to automate and simplify workloads running on Kubernetes. Working across the Linux stack, you will engage with technologies spanning networking, storage, virtualization, containers, and applications. The position combines software engineering rigor with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, testing, and operational excellence. You will collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams to deliver production-ready solutions for customers adopting modern cloud technologies. This is an ideal environment for engineers who enjoy distributed systems, open source development, and solving challenging infrastructure problems.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain open source operations software using Python, with a focus on reliable and scalable workloads running on Kubernetes.
• Work across the Linux stack, including the kernel, networking, storage, virtualization, containers, and applications.
• Develop solutions that improve the reliability, automation, and operational efficiency of complex open source systems.
• Build and improve high-quality monitoring and alerting infrastructure to support reliable production operations.
• Simplify the operation of open source technologies for customers and the broader open source community.
• Apply sound software architecture, engineering, testing, documentation, and quality practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure products operate reliably, efficiently, and at production scale.
• Follow agile software development methodologies and contribute to effective development workflows.
• Share technical knowledge and coach colleagues where appropriate, helping strengthen engineering capabilities across the team.
• Contribute to a healthy, collaborative engineering culture within a globally distributed organization.
• Work remotely while participating in global company and team events, typically involving travel once or twice per year for up to two weeks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, STEM, or a related technical field.
• Strong professional experience developing software with Python and an enthusiasm for solving technically challenging problems.
• Hands-on experience with Linux systems administration, package management, and production operations.
• Practical experience with at least one public cloud platform.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes and an understanding of containerized application environments.
• Strong understanding of software reliability principles and a commitment to designing and developing dependable systems.
• Interest in distributed systems and the ability to understand technologies across different layers of the Linux and cloud stack.
• Strong engineering discipline, including experience with software testing, maintainable code, and technical documentation.
• Good organization and time management skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality software within expected timelines.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a globally distributed engineering team.
• A genuine interest in open source software, cloud computing, and learning from technically strong colleagues.
