HiTHIUM Energy Storage in Spain is seeking an experienced Service Operations Engineer (m/f/x) to lead on-site execution and technical coordination of Battery Energy Storage System projects. You will own site activities from mobilisation through installation, commissioning and handover, coordinating internal and external teams to meet safety, quality and contractual requirements.

We are looking for an experienced Service Operations Engineer (m/f/x) to lead the on-site execution and technical coordination of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.

In this role, you will take ownership of site activities from project mobilisation through installation, commissioning and final acceptance. You will coordinate internal engineering and service teams, external contractors and customers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, to the required quality standards and in accordance with contractual requirements.

The position combines site management, technical problem-solving, project coordination and customer management and requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and complex industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate site activities, resources, schedules and key project milestones from mobilisation through installation, commissioning and final acceptance.
• Manage and coordinate Field Service Engineers (FSEs), contractors, service providers and customer resources during project execution.
• Monitor site progress, identify risks and delays, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Lead the resolution of mechanical, electrical, software and system-integration issues in cooperation with Engineering, R&D, Quality, Product and Supply Chain teams.
• Coordinate resources to resolve issues affecting operational projects and ensure recurring or high-impact issues are appropriately escalated.
• Ensure site activities comply with applicable EHS, quality, customer and regulatory requirements, particularly regarding high-voltage and battery systems.
• Act as a key on-site interface with customers, providing regular project updates and managing expectations, concerns and technical discussions.
• Support successful project handover and Final Acceptance.
• Provide technical guidance to FSEs and contribute to knowledge sharing, lessons learned and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrochemistry or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in field service, commissioning, site management or project execution within BESS, lithium-ion batteries, renewable energy, photovoltaics, semiconductors or a comparable industrial environment.
• Good understanding of electrical systems, ideally including lithium-ion batteries and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Ability to read electrical schematics, technical and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with project planning tools such as Microsoft Project and/or Primavera.
• Strong project management, technical problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work effectively in demanding site environments.
• Proactive, structured and solution-oriented working style.
• Willingness to travel regularly and work on customer sites.
