Job summary

Wood is recruiting a Senior Structure Designer to join its Power & Industrial business. The role focuses on steel structure design for power plants, with involvement in design, 3D modeling, and delivery of non-pressure parts.

This position offers hybrid work with office locations in Madrid and Las Rozas. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with project specs, codes and procedures while guiding shop drawing reviews and delivering on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Experience as structural designer on large or complex projects in power plants.
• Design and supply of boiler steel structures and non-pressure parts.
• Create 3D models and drawings for steel structures and non-pressure parts.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design on large/complex projects for boiler steel structures.
• Produce technical studies, designs, 3D models and drawings for steel structures and non-pressure parts.
• Ensure contract specifications, codes and procedures are fulfilled.
• Deliverables completed on time and within budget for the project.
• Check and approve steel and non-pressure part shop drawings/models and subcontractors.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Steel Structure Designer, to participate in our Engineering & Technical department with the followingexpertise:

• Perform the function of Structural designer on large or complex projects, including Design and Supply of Power plants Boiler´s steel structure and Non-pressure parts.
• Perform technical studies, designs, 3D models and drawings for steel structure and non-pressure parts: pressure parts supports, lugs and hangers, drums and tanks supports, platforms, boiler structures, racks, shipping, lifting and erection structures, air ducts, hoppers and flue casing, baffles, lining and supports, stacks,…), etc.
• Assures contract specifications, applicable codes and company procedures are fulfilled.
• Ensures successful completion of the assigned deliverables per contract requirements within the budgeted time and cost constraints of the project/proposals.
• Check, comment, and approval of steel and non-pressure partsshop drawings/models and subcontractors.
