Qualifications

• 10+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement or NPI in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Experience with R&D and Engineering on product development and cost reduction.
• Strong knowledge of industrial components and supplier markets.
• Ability to identify technically suitable alternative solutions.
• Familiarity with BOM and cost analysis methodologies is a plus.

• Lead strategic sourcing activities supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and product development projects.
• Collaborate with R&D and Engineering teams to understand technical specifications and identify alternative components, materials and suppliers.
• Drive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives to improve product competitiveness.
• Conduct international supplier scouting, market analysis and technical-commercial evaluations.
• Identify and assess alternative manufacturing technologies and sourcing solutions.
• Evaluate supplier proposals considering cost, technical performance, quality, reliability and lead times.
• Support supplier qualification, development and sourcing strategy implementation.
• Analyze product cost structures and identify opportunities for supply chain optimization.
• Coordinate cross-functional initiatives involving R&D, Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing.
• Ensure the timely execution of sourcing and cost optimization projects.

At agap2 Italia, we are looking for a Senior Strategic Sourcing & New Product Introduction (NPI) Consultant to support an international industrial company specializing in advanced power conversion technologies and electrical systems.

The selected professional will work closely with R&D, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to identify innovative sourcing opportunities, optimize product costs and support new product development initiatives.

The role requires a combination of technical understanding, strong supplier market knowledge and strategic procurement expertise, with a particular focus on identifying alternative components, technologies and manufacturing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing activities supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and product development projects.
• Collaborate with R&D and Engineering teams to understand technical specifications and identify alternative components, materials and suppliers.
• Drive cost reduction and value engineering initiatives to improve product competitiveness.
• Conduct international supplier scouting, market analysis and technical-commercial evaluations.
• Identify and assess alternative manufacturing technologies and sourcing solutions.
• Evaluate supplier proposals considering cost, technical performance, quality, reliability and lead times.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical background.
• Approximately 10+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supplier Development or NPI within industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience working with R&D and Engineering teams on product development and cost reduction projects.
• Strong knowledge of industrial components, manufacturing technologies and international supplier markets.
• Demonstrated ability to identify technically suitable and commercially competitive alternative solutions.
• Experience in technical sourcing, value engineering and supplier cost analysis.
• Familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM), product industrialization and cost analysis methodologies is a plus.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and cross-functional stakeholder management skills.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Availability for an immediate start and potential international business travel.

Experience in automotive, industrial automation, power electronics, electrical equipment, electromechanical components, industrial machinery or energy technologies will be considered particularly relevant.
