Factorial is seeking a Senior/Staff Site Reliability Engineer in A Coruña to join our Infrastructure Team. You’ll lead technical discussions, mentor engineers, and own major initiatives to keep the Factorial application running 24/7 with high performance and security.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, troubleshoot complex Kubernetes, and shape quarterly roadmaps, while embracing our culture of transparency and continuous learning in a hybrid office-first environment in Spain.

Formación

• 8+ years of Software/Systems Engineering experience, with 5+ years as Cloud SRE.
• Strong experience monitoring and troubleshooting large-scale cloud deployments.
• Hands-on with Terraform or Ansible for IaC.
• Observability experience with Datadog, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
• Proficiency with AWS or Azure.
• Ability to debug issues in Kubernetes clusters.
• Experience managing large MySQL clusters with HA.
• Someone who breaks down complex problems into clear, shareable elements.
• Mentoring experience and ability to grow others.
• Professional English communication.

We're looking for a Senior/Staff Site Reliability Engineer to join our Infrastructure Team in the Platform Domain.

We're a team of 200+ Product Engineers building Business Management solution that actually works for the people using it. Our core stack is Ruby on Rails and React but the interesting work right now is what we're building on top of that: agentic workflows, LLM-integrated features, systems that behave probabilistically rather than deterministically.

Our Infrastructure team’s mission is to keep the Factorial application running 24/7, ensure its performance, scalability and security, as well as research improvements to enable Product Engineers to develop new use cases adding value to our customers.

What are we looking for?

• 8+ years of Software/Systems Engineering experience, with 5+ years as Cloud SRE

• Solid experience monitoring and troubleshooting large-scale cloud deployments

• Hands‑on with Terraform or Ansible for IaC

• Observability experience with Datadog, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry

• Proficiency with AWS or Azure

Please note this is not a backend or frontend Software Engineering role.

What You’ll be doing?

• As a Staff Engineer you’ll lead technical discussions and provide guidance to more junior engineers on best practices and coding standards.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of features.

• Identify and troubleshoot software defects and implement effective solutions.

• You will be a product‑centric engineer, taking ownership of big initiatives, and being interested in the outcome, not just the output. About the outcome, you’ll also work with your team members to establish goals and plan a quarterly roadmap, putting special attention to the technical needs of our domain.

• You will review code, and get feedback on your own code.

• You will learn from the entire team, both on technical topics (performance, architecture…) and core skills, in an environment driven by engineering quality.

• You will share your knowledge, through the RFCs you write, pairing sessions, our mentoring programme or the occasional appearance in the monthly Tech All Hands.

The hiring process

1. Intro Call - Chat with our Talent Partner about your journey, current goals. We’ll be comparing our expectations and making sure we match on a human level.

2. Hiring Manager Interview - We’ll deep dive into your product mindset, teamwork, and problem-solving. Similarly to the first one, this is about making sure we are a fit and can work together.

3. Technical Interview - with our Factorial engineers. We'll provide an incident situation and we expect you to guide us through it like you normally would.

4. One last coffee-chat with our VP of Engineering, where you can get all the answers about Factorial’s culture, business vision, or anything else that interests you.
   The whole process is remote, using videoconferencing tools!
