Roche is seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect to lead architectural vision for complex, large‑scale products across Pharmaceuticals and Diagnostics. You will shape standards, balance product needs with enterprise rules, and drive AI‑enabled innovations within CCaaS and data integration ecosystems.

You will mentor colleagues, define data models and integration pathways, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust ERP and contact center solutions globally.

**The Position**
The **Senior Solution Architect** focuses on designing business-driven, standards-based, and future‑ready solutions within a complex, multiple solution, or product context. In this role, you will design solutions that meet product requirements, business priorities, and enterprise standards while managing non‑functional requirements (NFR) and fitness functions. You will lead others to solve complex problems, maintain the vision and roadmap for multiple solutions, provide technical oversight to product teams, and evaluate new technologies to continuously improve existing solutions and manage technical debt.
**Description of the area**
The Customer Interaction Platform and Services team is part of the Enterprise Platforms group. We provide Contact Center and Telephony services to all Roche divisions globally, including Pharmaceuticals and Diagnostics. Our team supports critical communication channels for both internal staff (such as Service Desk and other internal services) and external customers (including Patients, HCPs, and other partners).
We are currently transforming our Contact Center platform into a solution that allows us to innovate faster, deliver solutions to our consumers more quickly, and enable new AI transformative use cases.
Our team works closely with other architects within Enterprise Platforms, such as the Salesforce and ServiceNow teams. This collaboration ensures our systems are aligned, follow proper governance, and work together to provide a great user experience across the entire technology ecosystem.

**The Role: Your day‑to‑day at Roche**
In this position, you will lead the architectural vision for complex, large‑scale products that serve both our Pharmaceuticals and Diagnostics divisions.
+ **Architectural Leadership:** You will design standards‑based solutions that balance product requirements with Roche's Enterprise standards. You'll be the "guardian" of the roadmap, managing technical debt and ensuring our landscape remains agile.
+ **Innovation & AI:** You'll drive the adoption of AI transformative use cases within our CCaaS (Contact Center as a Service) environment, evaluating new technologies and conducting vendor assessments to keep us at the forefront of the industry.

The Accounts Payables ERP Solution Architect focuses on designing business‑driven, standards‑based, and future‑ready solutions within the Accounts Payables context. In this role, you will design solutions that meet product requirements, business priorities, and enterprise standards while managing non‑functional requirements (NFR) and evolving the architecture throughout the product life cycle. By solving complex technical problems, leading others through difficult challenges, defining reference architectures, and aligning with the broader architecture community for governance, you will ensure robust ERP implementations that deliver enhanced value to the organization. Our landscape in the Accounts Payables area integrates SAP ECC and S/4HANA with diverse procurement platforms to support the Invoice‑to‑Pay lifecycle. We ensure seamless processing from invoice receipt and compliant financial approval workflows through to the successful delivery of payment instructions to the Treasury solution.
You will play a key role in navigating the transition from legacy environments to modern ERP standards, ensuring integration resilience and scalability as we re‑engineer our global ERP landscape through the ASPIRE program.
You will serve as the critical interface for translating business requirements into technical/ IT language. Your primary mission is to deeply explore and define the functional "why" behind business requests, ensuring that every technological solution is built upon a foundation of clearly mapped processes and validated organizational needs.

**Who you are:**
**Education / Experience**
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, IT, Finance or a related field.
+ Minimum of 8‑10 years of experience working as Solution Architect with strong analytical and hands‑on problem solving skills.
+ 2+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated healthcare technology industry focusing on stakeholder management & product development & delivery.
+ Demonstrated experience designing business‑driven, standards‑based, future‑ready solutions within a complex or multiple solution/product context.
+ Experience maintaining the vision, roadmap, and current landscape for multiple solutions, and assessing the impacts of initiatives on capabilities, risk, and application landscapes.
+ Proven track record of actively shaping architecture practices‑including maintaining solution roadmaps, assessing technology trends, and leading vendor evaluations-while mentoring and developing junior team members.
+ Act as a strategic translator, performing deep‑dive business analysis to elicit requirements and ensure technical designs optimize business processes and end‑user experiences.
**Technical Skills**
+ General and in‑depth functional knowledge of SAP ECC and S/4HANA (FI/CO and MM), complemented by deep technical and functional knowledge of OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (Otext‑VIM). Advanced ABAP code expertise is required to analyze custom logic, review BAdIs/User Exits, and perform deep‑system debugging and ensure high‑quality code delivery from internal and external partners.
+ Experience in designing scalable, high‑volume financial processing solutions in a global, multi‑entity environment.
+ Strong understanding of OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and Intelligent Capture technologies for automated data extraction and validation.
+ Strong knowledge of integration patterns, architecture, design & implementation, API‑Led connectivity, Middleware (e.g Mulesoft) for connecting AP related solutions and ERP Systems.
+ Expertise in managing Non‑Functional Requirements (NFRs), defining fitness functions, and establishing reference architectures and patterns.
+ Strong skills in handling data formats (JSON, XML, CSV, EDI Standards), data mapping, transformation, and ETL processes across Accounts Payable systems.
+ Ability to accurately record and maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
+ Proficiency in creating Conceptual & Logical Data Models, Taxonomies, Ontologies, and Integration pathways for products.
+ Ability to define and drive reference architectures, patterns, NFRs, and fitness functions.
+ Strong capability to drive external technology trends and assess feasibility for multiple solutions, including conducting vendor assessments.
