N26 is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer in Barcelona to help build the testing infrastructure for a complex microservices platform. You will create internal tools and frameworks that enable developers to ship high-quality code quickly, while embedding quality gates into our CI/CD pipelines.

You will mentor teammates, define scalable quality standards, and collaborate across DevOps, SRE and development teams to improve testability and reliability.

Formación

We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Quality Platform team. In this role, you won’t just be "testing" software; you will be building the infrastructure and tools that enable hundreds of developers to ship high-quality code at speed. As part of the Quality Platform team, your mission is to design, maintain, and evolve the ecosystem used to test our complex microservices architecture. You will be a force multiplier, creating the tools and processes that make quality a seamless part of the developer experience.

This is a hybrid role based in our Barcelona office.

In This Role You Will

• Build Tools: Design and maintain internal tools, frameworks, and platforms that streamline testing across our microservice landscape.
• Champion GitOps: Work closely with DevOps and SRE teams to integrate quality gates into our CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
• Evolve Architecture: Consult on the testability of our microservices and ensure our platform scales with our growth.
• Set Standards: Define company-wide quality processes, moving beyond manual checks to automated, resilient systems.
• Mentor: Act as a technical leader within the Quality community at N26, mentoring other engineers and advocating for a "Quality First" mindset.

What You Will Bring Along

• An Ownership Mindset: You are a self-starter and a "go-getter." You don’t wait for instructions; you identify bottlenecks and solve them.
• Strong Coding Fundamentals: You have a deep understanding of programming principles. Whether it’s Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, or Python, you write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Microservices Expertise: You have experience working in complex, distributed environments and understand how to test communication between services.
• Containerization Knowledge: You are comfortable working with Docker to containerize test environments and tools.
• The "Plus" Factor: You have a strong affinity for GitOps/DevOps cultures. Hands-on experience with ArgoCD or GitHub Actions is a major plus.
• Communication Skills: You have a strong command of the English language and can effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
