Indra Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Spain to join an international engineering environment, focusing on embedded platforms and Linux-based ground systems. You will stay hands-on while shaping the technology modernization, migrating from PHP to Kotlin, and delivering end-to-end solutions.
The role emphasizes strong Java/Kotlin backend skills, cloud technologies (AWS), and collaboration within a small, ownership-driven team.
Formación
- 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
- Strong C/C++ and Python skills.
- Experience with Zephyr RTOS, Yocto and Linux development.
- Experience developing for ARM and/or x86.
- Solid understanding of Git workflows and automated testing.
- Experience with platforms such as Xilinx Zynq-7000, NXP i.MX RT, AVR32 or STM32.
Responsabilidades
- Develop embedded software using Zephyr RTOS and Yocto-based Embedded Linux.
- Build low-level drivers, middleware and applications for communication and satellite systems.
- Develop Linux applications supporting ground-based communication infrastructure.
- Create and maintain automated Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) tests.
- Support board bring-up, debugging and performance optimization.
- Contribute to software architecture, CI/CD, testing and long-term maintainability.
- Provide technical support and guidance around system usage, APIs and troubleshooting.

You’ll join a close-knit engineering function of around 9 engineers , giving you plenty of ownership, visibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on technical decisions and how the platform evolves.
One of the key projects will involve modernising the existing technology platform and migrating from PHP to Kotlin .
You’ll work closely with engineering and product while remaining firmly hands-on with development and delivery .
- Strong commercial experience with Java or Kotlin
- Strong backend software engineering experience
- Currently hands-on with coding and comfortable working in a highly technical role
- Experience with cloud technologies , ideally AWS
- Experience building and maintaining modern, scalable backend applications
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable working within a smaller engineering team with significant ownership
Experience within FinTech, banking, payments, lending, insurance or wider financial services would be a strong advantage.
We’re also particularly interested in engineers who have worked on:
- Legacy modernisation or technology migration projects
- AWS and cloud-native architectures
- Smaller product engineering teams with end-to-end ownership
- Practical use of AI within software development
This is a permanent position and candidates must be based in, or able to be permanently employed in:
