Concentric Recruitment partners with a fast-growing Deep Tech company to hire a Senior Platform Engineer for Embedded Systems in Madrid. You will own the transition of two existing codebases to production-grade, scalable systems.

You will design and operate CI/CD pipelines across the full software stack, working across Software Engineering, Platform/Release Engineering and Embedded Systems, with ownership from day one.

Formación

• 5–8 years of experience across Software, Platform, Release or Embedded Engineering.
• Strong Python and comfortable working with C++.
• Previous experience taking real software from prototype/early-stage to production.
• Strong CI/CD experience across complex, non-trivial systems.
• Automated testing, integration testing, benchmarking and release processes.
• Experience deploying software beyond traditional cloud/SaaS environments.
• Experience with embedded systems, physical devices, on-premise environments or restricted networks.
• Strong understanding of production-quality software, APIs, module boundaries and code architecture.
• Experience restructuring or improving existing production codebases.
• Comfortable taking ownership of complex technical problems with no existing playbook.
• Professional level of English.

Role: Senior Platform Engineer – Embedded Systems

Job Type: Full-Time

Our partner is a fast-growing Deep Tech company developing complex autonomous systems that combine software, embedded technology and physical products.

They already have two working codebases: embedded software running on the physical product and ground-station software used by operators. The technology works. The next challenge is making it production-ready and scalable for deployment into real customer environments.

They are now looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to own that transition.

This is not a traditional Platform Engineering role focused on Kubernetes, Terraform and cloud infrastructure. You’ll work across Software Engineering, Platform/Release Engineering and Embedded Systems, building the processes and infrastructure required to test, release, deploy and safely update the product.

You won’t be maintaining an established Platform function. You’ll be helping build and professionalise it.

What we are looking for

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics, IoT, autonomous systems, automotive, aerospace, medtech or other embedded products
• OTA or signed software update systems
• Artifact signing, atomic deployments, rollback and partial updates
• AWS or other cloud infrastructure for simulation, testing and deployment
• Experience building automated benchmark and integration testing infrastructure
• Software security experience within embedded or connected products
• Experience working with regulated or on-premise customer environments
• Familiarity with the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) or similar assurance frameworks
• Previous experience in Deep Tech, defence or an early-stage technology company

What you’ll be doing

• Taking two existing codebases and helping turn them into scalable, production-grade systems
• Designing and operating CI/CD pipelines across the full software stack

What success looks like

During your first year, you’ll help establish the engineering foundation for the next stage of the product:

• Both core codebases running through robust CI/CD and automated testing
• Automated benchmarks capable of quickly identifying performance regressions
• A reliable and secure software deployment and update process from development through to customer environments
• OTA / signed deployment with observability, rollback and recovery built in
• A repeatable deployment process that can scale as new customers are onboarded

This role will suit someone who enjoys taking technology that already works and engineering the systems around it to make sure it can be tested, shipped, updated and scaled reliably in the real world.

You’ll have significant ownership from day one, and the engineering standards you establish will shape how the team develops and ships software.
