Job summary

Linde Material Handling, part of the KION Group, is seeking an experienced Senior QA Test Automation Engineer to join its Barcelona-based team. You will design scalable automation frameworks, implement UI and API tests in TypeScript, and leverage Agentic AI (Claude Code) to accelerate testing and improve quality.

You will work in Agile squads collaborating with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Test Automation Engineering.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Test Automation Engineer who combines strong automation expertise with a modern AI-first mindset. This role is ideal for someone passionate about building scalable automation solutions while leveraging Agentic AI to transform how testing is designed, implemented, maintained, and executed.

The successful candidate will have deep experience in web and API test automation, strong hands‑on coding skills in TypeScript, and a proven ability to use AI agents to accelerate automation development, improve test coverage, reduce maintenance effort, and enhance overall software quality.

Working within Agile teams, you will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.

Agentic AI expertise is a core requirement for this role. We are seeking an engineer with hands‑on experience using AI agents such as Claude Code to design, generate, maintain, and optimize automated tests while continuously improving engineering productivity and software quality.

Key Responsibilities

Test Automation

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable automated test frameworks.
• Create automated UI, API, integration, and end-to-end tests using modern automation practices.
• Contribute to the evolution of the test automation strategy and continuously improve test coverage, execution speed, and maintainability.
• Identify and eliminate flaky tests through test reliability engineering practices.
• Contribute to the development and adoption of automation frameworks, reusable components, and quality engineering best practices.
• Perform exploratory, system-level, and end-to-end validation activities

AI-Driven Quality Engineering

• Leverage Agentic AI solutions to accelerate test automation development and maintenance.
• Use tools such as Claude Code and other AI agents to generate, refactor, optimize, and maintain test automation code.
• Apply AI-assisted approaches for:
• Test case generation, Automation code development, Test data creation, Root cause analysis, Failure investigation, Test maintenance and self-healing strategies, and Risk-based test identification
• Act as a champion for AI-driven quality engineering and continuously identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity through AI.

CI/CD & Quality Gates

• Integrate automated tests into GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and maintain GitHub Actions workflows that provide fast and reliable quality feedback.
• Optimize automation execution through parallelization, test selection, and pipeline improvements.
• Contribute to releasing quality gates and deployment confidence.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Test Automation Engineering.
• Strong experience working in Agile software development environments.
• Proven experience automating tests for web applications and APIs.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automation frameworks.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Technical Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience with Playwright for web application test automation.
• Strong software engineering and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with GitHub Actions / GitHub Workflows.
• Experience testing REST APIs and distributed services.
• Strong understanding of test automation architecture, test design techniques, and quality engineering principles.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving automation reliability issues, flaky tests, and CI/CD execution failures.

AI & Innovation

• Hands‑on experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code to develop and maintain test automation.
• Practical experience applying Agentic AI to software testing and quality engineering workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI agents to increase automation productivity, improve test coverage, and reduce maintenance effort.
• Strong understanding of how AI can be integrated into modern Quality Engineering practices
