Scopely is seeking a Senior QA Manager for the Star Trek Fleet Command team in Barcelona. This leadership role involves directing all QA operations and managing both internal and external teams. Your responsibilities will include developing quality strategies, ensuring high standards for releases, and fostering a culture of quality throughout the organization. The ideal candidate should have exceptional leadership skills, experience with JIRA, and the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines. Employment is based on merit, and a résumé in English is necessary.

Scopely is looking for a Senior QA Manager to join our Star Trek Fleet Command team within our Midcore division, in Barcelona, Dublin, or the UK, on a remote basis.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Executive Producer, you will adapt, build upon, and direct all QA operations for Scopely’s exciting flagship title, Star Trek Fleet Command (STFC).

Overseeing both internal and external teams/studios, you will be responsible for devising the QA strategy, managing resources, and administering and coordinating tools while working closely with the Senior Leadership team to align on big picture goals and direction while championing a culture of quality throughout the business. As part of the Scopely family, you will represent STFC’s quality efforts and work closely with our sister companies to maximise efficiency and make use of all available facilities, whilst ensuring our core fundamentals of “Quality First” are always upheld.

You will help shape the future on how we continue to iterate to success, and evolve the way we work.

  • Manage the STFC QA Leadership team, spanning all areas of the project
  • Define and execute department strategy, striving for continuous improvement within a fast paced & changing environment.
  • Proactively drive and educate the business wide importance of a Culture of Quality, helping to deliver its presence in all that we do.
  • Build on existing team metrics for measurement of quality and operational excellence, always looking at how we can improve.
  • Drive and coordinate our 3rd Party offshore QA team, communicating clear expectations and identifying areas for improvement, accompanying these with suggested solutions and support.
  • With the Executive Producer, plan, build and work to an Annual Operating Plan within the QA department, based on project movement and growth.
  • Ensure STFC releases are always of the highest standard, both in terms of defect mitigation & user experience. Investigate if and when serious issues make it into the Live environment, plugging gaps and helping mitigate future occurrences

  • Flexible to an agile setup with the ability to multitask, managing coverage for multiple high profile releases with strict deadlines
  • High level commercial awareness with an understanding of business priorities and goals
  • Comfortable travelling on occasion to offshore team locations
  • Exceptional reporting capabilities
  • Extensive knowledge of JIRA and/or similar bug-tracking systems
