haddock is rebuilding its design function and seeks a senior designer to lead end-to-end product design for our restaurant-focused AI platform. You will own the design process from discovery to shipped features, shape the design system, and collaborate closely with engineers to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You will work in a small squad, enjoy ownership and autonomy, and help translate customer needs into elegant, scalable design. Barcelona-based hybrid work offered.

Formación

• 5+ years of product design experience in scaling B2B SaaS companies.
• End-to-end product design experience from discovery to validation and delivery.
• Strong command of design systems, including building or scaling one.
• Active hands-on use of AI in the design process with demonstrated productivity gains.
• Fluent in Spanish and comfortable in English.
• Experience designing for AI-driven products in production is a plus.

Ready to lead design at haddock

We're rebuilding the design function at haddock, and looking for the senior designer to lead that from the front. This is a real opportunity to shape how design works here, the standards it holds, and the systems it runs on, with a lot of room to make it yours.

What we're looking for

We are looking for an action-oriented, curious, autonomous, and take full ownership of their work designer. You are champion of figuring out the unknowns. You talk to customers, deliver quality work, improve our tooling, and are ambitious.

We strongly adhere to Lean Startup and Agile principles, favoring action over analysis, imperfect iteration over perfect delivery, face-to-face communication, and a fast-paced environment.

We work in small mission-oriented squads of 1 to 3 people.

As the senior designer leading this next chapter, you'll set the bar for how design gets done at haddock. You'll own the end-to-end process across the whole product, not just a corner of it:

• Own the end-to-end design process, from discovery to shipped feature
• Design flows and interfaces for both our system of record and our AI Agents, like Fina
• Talk to customers to validate ideas, run usability tests and gather feedback
• Turn ambiguous problems into clear, usable, and elegant solutions
• Work closely with engineers during implementation to protect the quality of the final result
• Track usage, measure interactions and extract conclusions to inform new iterations
• Build haddock's design system and set the standard for brand consistency, from scratch

Some example high-level objectives you could work toward in your first months:

• Redesigning key flows so business data tells the story of the restaurant to their owners, surfacing financial metrics and insights clearly.
• Designing the experience for Fina, our AI Agent, so conversational and automated workflows feel trustworthy and effortless for non-technical restaurateurs.
• Increasing adoption of inventories to 50% of customers, by simplifying a crucial part of daily restaurant operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product design experience in scaling B2B SaaS companies.
• End-to-end product design experience: from discovery and research to interaction design, prototyping, and validation. We aren't looking for a "screen decorator" — we need someone responsible for outcomes, not just for delivering mockups.
• Strong command of design systems, including experience building or scaling one as a product grows.
• Active, hands-on use of AI in your design process — not just familiarity, but developed judgment (criterio) for when and how to use it, and real productivity gains to show for it.
• Fluent in Spanish and comfortable in English. We tend to speak Spanish at the office and in Slack, and write documentation and projects in English.
• You'll stand out if you've already designed for AI-driven products in production — at haddock we already have 15+ AI workflows live, and that number keeps growing.

Nice to have

• Experience growing or leading a design function at an early-stage startup
• Familiarity with front-end concepts (components, states) — enough to have real conversations with engineers about feasibility
• Experience running customer interviews or usability tests end-to-end, not just observing them

Our hiring process

• Intro call with Ingrid (Head of Product), 25 mins.
• Portfolio review and design deep-dive with the Product team, 45–60 mins.
• Design challenge or take-home exercise, followed by a walkthrough session.
• Final call with Pol (Co-founder), 25 mins.
