Job summary

Omya seeks a Senior Process Expert for Book-to-Close to review and optimize the process design, ensuring compliance with Omya's standards and internal controls. You will drive continuous improvement across the OS&S end-to-end service line, spanning Omya’s HQ and business units.

In this role, you will collaborate with IT, risk management, and finance teams to implement improvements, develop KPIs, and standardize processes while maintaining accurate process architecture documentation.

Job description

The Senior Process expert Book-to-close is responsible for reviewing and optimizing the Book-2-close process design, ensuring compliance with Omya’s standards and internal control framework. This role implements identified process improvements, supports systemic implementa-tions, and collaborates with IT and other stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and pro-cess standardization along the OS&S end-2-end service line, spanning across Omya’s headquarter and the business units.

Key Accountabilities

Book-2-close process design & improvement

• Continuously review current Book-2-close process design or dedicated sub-processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Propose and operationalize measures to optimize the process in close alignment with the OS&S Book-2-close delivery teams.
• Support process standardization and alignment across the end-2-end service scope, spanning across Omya’s headquarter and Omya’s business units.

Book-2-close governance and compliance

• Develop and implement compelling KPIs to ensure an effective process management (steering dimensions: efficiency, compliance, quality)Apply and maintain process standards, templates and control matrices
• Establish and implement internal controls in line with Omya’s Group ICs guidance and frameworks to mitigate risks and increase the level compliance in close collaboration with risk management
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Omya’s process standardsEnsure proper maintenance of the process architecture documentation (e.g. Process Flow-Charts, etc.) and ensures further development of the process architecture in the course of the implementation

Book-2-close performance management and continuous improvement

• Collaborate closely with Omya’s internal IT department and other relevant stakeholders to support configuration decisions and digital enablers (e.g., automation, process mining).
• Support prioritization of automation initiatives, e.g. for reconciliations, subledger-to-ledger integrations
• Ensure adequate systemic implementation into process design incl. definition of all system specifications
• Operationalize CI backlog measures and ensure regular tracking and maintenance of backlog items

Operational execution

• Oversee their field of responsibilities within the OS&S Process Management team and accomplishes tasks in a quality and timely manner aim order to maintain and develop the standard process model

• Support Group-wide projects / initiatives and adheres to milestones in a quality and timely manner

• Operationalize measures to improve the Book-2-close or respective sub-processes and introduce measures into the OS&S delivery teams

• Operationalize efficient handover points between upand downstream processes, e.g. align Order-to-cash, Procure-to-pay, Tax, Treasury

• Handle exceptions and resolve process-related issues promptly

• Specifies and documents business requirements and if required functional test scripts

• Develop training materials as required for the process and maintain playbooks and training materials

• Process scope for this process includes, among others GL accounting, Asset accounting and month-end closing

Knowledge and skills

Education

• University degree in Finance, Business Management, Business Administration or related field

Experience

• Min. 5 years of relevant working experience in a processor function-related position and leadership responsibilities

Knowledge and skills

• Proven experience with Book-2-close, Record-2-report process execution or related business field (Finance, Accounting)
• Deep knowledge of process modeling, service delivery frameworks & process governance
• Expertise in IFRS, internal controls, statutory reporting, and audit readiness
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and transformation initiatives
• Hands‑on experience with SAP ERP, S/4HANA preferred
• Strong problem solving and root‑cause analysis skills with a bias to action
• Hands-on mentality and able to manage conflicts
• Willingness to question the status quo and to dig into details
• Strong organizational skills and ability to execute
• Creative and critical thinking skills

Other requirements

• Excellent command of both oral and written English are required
• Good command of both oral and written additional language is beneficial
• Willingness to travel up to 20-25%
