NOW Systems is seeking an ocean software developer to join our Madrid team. You will develop and operate production suites supporting ocean monitoring and forecasting, with a primary focus on data stewardship for in-situ observations using EMODNET and Copernicus Marine data sources.

You will also assist with the integration of regional forecast products into the Copernicus Marine COLAB MFC service, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams in an international framework.

Formación

• Master’s degree in oceanography, geophysics, or engineering; Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
• Strong proficiency in programming and scripting languages, including Python, R and shell scripting, as well as experience with version control systems (such as Git)
• Knowledge of relational databases, including PostgreSQL/PostGIS, MySQL, SQL server, applied to oceanographic datasets.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and operate production suites that support ocean monitoring and forecasting services.
• Focus on data stewardship for in-situ ocean observations using EMODNET and Copernicus Marine InSitu data sources.
• Support integration of external regional ocean forecast products into the Copernicus Marine COLAB MFC Service.
