Job summary

Share is building a software-defined network fabric that spans Africa with multi-provider reach. The Senior Network Developer will own end-to-end architecture, including backbone, PoP design, and interconnects, while turning operations into code.

You’ll drive modern routing (Segment Routing, IPv4/IPv6), work with white-box hardware, and implement telemetry and AI-assisted operations for reliability. Equity is offered in this venture-backed company.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating large networks at a hyperscaler, CDN, internet exchange, carrier or ISP.
• Deep BGP at scale: route policy, communities, RPKI, traffic engineering, peering and transit.
• Strong data center and backbone design with Clos/EVPN-VXLAN, MPLS or SR.
• Hands-on with white-box or disaggregated networking, choosing hardware and limits.

Responsibilities

• Design the backbone and PoP architecture as standard building blocks for scalable expansion.
• Drive Segment Routing and IPv4/IPv6 address space coexistence.
• Develop a programmable network with Python and automation pipelines.
• Build telemetry/observability systems and use AI for anomaly detection and automated triage.
• Own availability and post-incident fixes, reducing blast radius and improving reliability.
• Collaborate with software team on API provisioning layer and partner engineers during hand-off.
• Help hire and mentor the engineering team.
