Job summary

IQVIA is seeking a Senior Medical Director to provide strategic medical and scientific expertise across a therapeutic area. You will drive proposal development, engage in client bid defense meetings, and serve as a trusted SME throughout R&D lifecycles and clinical trials.

This role supports independent customer solutions and requires leadership across the organization. Occasional travel of up to 20% nationally or internationally will be expected as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Requires MD with practical knowledge leading and managing execution of processes, projects and tactics within the R&D therapeutic area.
• Board Certification in Cardiology, Endocrinology, or Nephrology is required.
• Experience: typically minimum 10 years in relevant field; at least 5 years in pharma or CRO setting, with senior strategic leadership.

Responsibilities

• Work independently of the therapeutic area head.
• Demonstrate independence in strategic proposal development with the team.
• Participate in client proposal bid defense meetings as leader and SME.
• Act as consultant throughout the R&D lifecycle and during clinical trials; may serve as standalone customer solution.
• Formulate clinical development plans and drive group strategy for Center of Excellence.
