Sateliot seeks a Senior Mechanical & Structural Engineer in Barcelona to own the satellite platform's mechanical design and structure end to end, spanning concept, analysis, testing, through to flight hardware and launcher integration.

You will drive structural analysis, verification campaigns, and cross-functional collaboration with AIT, manufacturing, and design teams to deliver future generations.

Formación

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 8+ years of mechanical/structural spacecraft experience.
• Hands-on CAD design with flight hardware experience.
• Experience with structural analysis using FEM tools (static, modal, random vibration).

Responsabilidades

• Lead the platform structural analysis: define analysis plan, review results, run analyses, build in-house capability.
• Oversee mechanical verification: specify test requirements, supervise vibration campaigns, interpret results.

• Lead mechanical design for next platform generations.

About The Team & This Role

The Mission and Systems Engineering team is responsible for the design, integration and validation of Sateliot's satellite platform. As Senior Mechanical & Structural Engineer, you'll own the platform's structure end to end: the mechanical design and its configuration, the structural analysis behind it, the definition of the mechanical test campaign and the interpretation of its results, through to the flight model and launch. You'll consolidate the current design, take it through environmental testing with the AIT team, and lead the mechanical design of the next platform generations.

What You'll Do

• Own the structural and mechanical design of the satellite platform end to end: architecture, mechanical ICDs, drawings, configuration control.
• Own the platform's structural analysis: define the analysis plan, review and disposition results, run analyses when needed, and build Sateliot's in-house analysis capability (models, tools and processes).
• Own the mechanical verification of the platform: define test requirements, specify the vibration campaign, co-author procedures with the AIT team, supervise execution, and deliver the post-test engineering (model correlation, results assessment, non-conformance disposition).
• Take the structure from design to flight hardware: follow manufacturing and sourcing of structural components, support platform assembly and launcher integration with engineering judgement side by side with AIT.
• Lead the mechanical design of the next platform generations.

What you bring

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 8+ years of mechanical and structural engineering on spacecraft hardware.
• At least one satellite platform structure delivered end to end: design, structural analysis, manufacturing, AIT and environmental testing, through to launch.
• Hands-on mechanical design in CAD (SolidWorks or equivalent), including drawings and mechanical ICDs, on flight hardware.
• Hands-on structural analysis of spacecraft structures with an FEM tool (Nastran, ANSYS, Abaqus or equivalent), covering static, modal and random vibration.

Bonus if you have:

• Working knowledge of ECSS-E-ST-32 and ECSS-E-ST-10-03, or equivalent standards, applied pragmatically.
• Mechanisms and deployables.
• Micro-vibration for optical equipments
• MGSE design and cleanroom integration experience.
• Small-satellite launcher interface knowledge.
• Mechanical interfaces of propulsion subsystems.
• Thermo-elastic analysis.
• PDM/PLM tools.

Additional requirements

• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Based in Barcelona or willing to relocate: this is a hybrid role with regular on-site presence at our Barcelona HQ.
• Availability for travel to external test facilities and launch campaigns.
