Intellias is seeking a senior backend engineer to design, develop and operate scalable Spring Boot-based microservices in a distributed environment. You will build event-driven data pipelines, work with large datasets, and collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams.

The role emphasizes AWS cloud work, PostgreSQL/DynamoDB schemas, and robust API development. This remote-from-Spain position offers a Fortune 100 partner project with strong growth opportunities.

Formación

• 6+ years designing, developing, deploying backend services and distributed systems in production using Java 21, Spring Boot.
• 2+ years hands-on AWS core services and cloud-native development.
• Experience parsing and ingesting various file types (large media files).
• Strong experience designing and operating event-driven distributed systems using Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or equivalent messaging platforms.
• Strong experience with microservices, MVC, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong experience with JPA / Hibernate.
• Strong database design with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB, including schema design, optimization, performance tuning.
• Solid test automation with JUnit and Cucumber.
• Hands-on with GitHub Actions and/or similar CI/CD tools.
• Strong ownership in fast-paced Agile, ability to deliver end-to-end solutions, communicate in English.
• Ability to provide 6 hours overlap with US Central Time (CT).

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Spring Boot-based microservices in a distributed architecture.
• Build and operate event-driven data processing pipelines for streaming data.
• Work with complex datasets focusing on data analysis, transformation, validation, and optimization.
• Develop and maintain advanced SQL queries and data workflows to support business needs.
• Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to solve data challenges.
• Contribute to data warehousing and analytics initiatives, including Snowflake-based solutions.
• Develop and maintain robust APIs for internal and external consumers.
• Work with AWS cloud services to design and support reliable, scalable backends.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL and DynamoDB schemas for performance and integrity.
• Implement automated testing strategies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain monitoring, logging, and observability for reliability.
• Collaborate in distributed teams and own features end-to-end.
