Job summary

R2M Solution Spain is seeking a Senior professional to lead EU-funded projects in energy and smart grids. You will coordinate international consortia, manage governance and reporting, and drive exploitation and communication work packages across Spain and Europe.

You will mentor junior consultants, develop proposals end-to-end, and travel 15–20% to meet partners and funding bodies. English and Spanish proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 5 years managing EU-funded projects.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating Horizon Europe/LIFE projects.
• Proven track record leading exploitation and communication work packages.
• Experience in writing complete EU proposals and coordinating teams.
• Knowledge of programme rules: Model Grant Agreement, lump sum and actual cost reporting.

Job description

R2M Solution Spain is currently seeking a talented, independent and driven individual to contribute to its innovation activities in projects related to energy efficiency, renewable energy technologies and smart grids and delivering innovation services to clients (e.g., Horizon Europe proposal writing). In our projects, R2M aims to bring products and services into the market with innovative business models, plans, market analyses and exploitation roadmaps. The candidate will bring expertise and experience to contribute to various projects where R2M participates within the Horizon Europe Framework Programme and deliver innovation services to R2M clients (SME, leading research centers, universities and industry leaders).

Duties

Lead EU-funded projects (Horizon Europe, LIFE)

• Act as project coordinator or project manager of international R&I projects: consortium management, governance, Grant Agreement and Consortium Agreement, amendments, periodic technical and financial reporting, review meetings and day-to-day contact with the Project Officer.
• Lead exploitation work packages: key exploitable results, market analyses, business models and business plans, exploitation plans and roadmaps, and IPR management.
• Lead communication and dissemination work packages: strategy and plans, stakeholder engagement, events and workshops, and clustering with related projects and initiatives.
• Ensure deliverables and reports are of high quality and delivered on time, managing risks and partner contributions.

Deliver proposal writing services

• Lead proposals end to end: topic analysis, concept definition, consortium building, work plan and budget, full writing of Part B (Excellence, Impact, Implementation), Part A and submission.
• Coordinate the writing across partners: calendar, allocation of contributions, reviews and quality control against the evaluation criteria.
• Build and maintain a network of industrial, academic and research partners to form competitive consortia.
• Deliver proposal writing and coordination as a service to R2M clients.

Grow the team and the business

• Mentor junior consultants and review their work.
• Represent R2M before partners, clients and funding bodies in Spain and Europe (travel 15–20% of the time).

Required skills/experience

• Atleast 5 years managing EU-funded projects.
• Demonstrated experience in the overall coordination or management of Horizon Europe/H2020 and LIFE projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading exploitation work packages (business models, exploitation plans, IPR) and communication and dissemination work packages.
• Demonstrated track record in EU proposals, at least in Horizon Europe and LIFE: writing complete proposals, coordinating the writing team and building the consortium. Experience as lead writer or proposal coordinator on successful, funded EU proposals is expected.
• Solid knowledge of the programme rules: Model Grant Agreement, lump sum and actual cost reporting, Funding & Tenders Portal.
• Master's degree related to the duties (engineering, economics or similar), with a background in energy, sustainability or the built environment.
• Excellent written and spoken English (C1 or above); professional working Spanish (B2 or above).
• Autonomy, leadership and the ability to manage several projects and deadlines in parallel.

Additional skills/experience that would be an advantage

• Proposal or project experience in other programmes (Interreg, Innovation Fund, EIC, Digital Europe, CET Partnership, national schemes).
• Experience as an expert evaluator for the European Commission.
• Knowledge of renewable energy and electricity markets (energy communities, demand response, smart grids, storage, heating and cooling).
• An MBA or similar business training.
• Experience managing or mentoring a team

Remuneration

• €38,000 – €45,000 gross/year (depending on candidate experience and qualifications, for profiles with +5 years of experience).
