Novanta in Barcelona seeks an experienced Senior Firmware Engineer to lead embedded firmware design, development, and testing for our product lines. You will collaborate with hardware, software, and testing teams to deliver high-performance solutions and contribute to motion control algorithms from concept to production.

Formación

• MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years of embedded firmware experience
• Proficiency in C, including bare-metal
• Experience with MCU peripherals: I2C, SPI, CAN, USB, UART, GPIO
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Strong software design and maintainability
• Hands-on hardware bring-up and debugging
• Experience with version control (Git)
• Ability to read schematics and datasheets

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain firmware running on Novanta products
• Implement new features for existing products, including feedback interfaces, communication protocols, and motion control algorithms
• Participate in design and development of new products
• Implement proofs of concept for novel products or features
• Develop and maintain CI/CD libraries
• Collaborate with hardware to review schematics and assist with component selection
• Work with software team to create libraries and applications for customers
• Collaborate with testing team to define test plans
• Review and improve external documentation and internal architecture documentation
