AiMA Beyond Ai is seeking a Senior DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineer focused on building and operating production infrastructure in Barcelona. You will own cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, platform security, observability and reliability. Expect to collaborate with AI agents while maintaining human accountability for production outcomes.

An on-site, growth-oriented role demanding strong hands-on cloud and IaC skills, with a focus on secure, scalable architectures and incident response.

We are looking for a Senior DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineer with strong hands-on experience designing, automating and operating production infrastructure.

This is not a junior or entry-level position nor remote.

You will take technical ownership of cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, platform security, observability, reliability and production operations.

A key part of the role is working with AI coding and infrastructure agents such as Claude Code, Codex or equivalent tools. You must be able to instruct AI agents, review and audit their output, identify errors or security risks, and take responsibility for the final production result.

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering or a closely related role.
• Proven responsibility for production systems.
• Strong hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience.
• Experience managing GCP environments across multiple projects.
• Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Professional scripting experience with Bash, Python or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of IAM, least-privilege access, service accounts and cloud permissions.
• Experience managing secrets securely.
• Experience implementing authentication between workloads without relying on long-lived static credentials.
• Experience with production observability: logging, monitoring, metrics, alerting and incident investigation.
• Hands-on experience managing production incidents.
• Experience designing and testing backup and disaster-recovery procedures.
• Experience implementing zero-downtime deployments and rollback strategies.
• Experience with Git-based development and infrastructure workflows.
• Practical experience using AI development agents such as Claude Code, Codex or equivalent tools.
• Ability to review, validate and take responsibility for code or infrastructure generated by AI agents.
• Ability to create clear technical documentation, operational runbooks and auditable procedures.
• Ability and willingness to work 100% on-site in Barcelona, 5 days per week.

AI-NATIVE DEVOPS

We expect AI agents to be part of the engineering workflow.

You may use tools such as Claude Code, Codex or equivalent systems to accelerate infrastructure development, scripting, debugging, documentation and operations.

However, AI-generated output must never be treated as automatically correct.

You will be expected to:

• Give precise technical instructions to AI agents.
• Review generated code and infrastructure changes.
• Identify security, reliability and architectural issues.
• Understand what the agent has changed and why.
• Maintain human accountability for production systems.
• Build documentation and runbooks that can also be consumed by AI agents through RAG-based systems.

We also welcome strong candidates with vocational technical qualifications such as Systems Administration, Software Development or equivalent professional training when supported by significant relevant experience.

Certifications are valuable, but real production experience, technical judgement and ownership are significantly more important.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We want someone who can independently make sound infrastructure decisions, identify risks before they reach production and take ownership when things go wrong.

We are particularly interested in engineers who understand that DevOps is not simply deploying software or maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

This role requires responsibility for reliability, security, automation and production operations.

Salary bracket: depending on value, from 38K to 50K € before taxes.
