For an European organization in Strasbourg, France, we are urgently looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with hands-on infrastructure experience with OpenShift Container Platform to provide support to the deployment team, participation in troubleshooting sessions, review of infra related documentation.

EU candidates are welcome to apply. Candidates must be eligible for EU Security Clearance (at least 5 years of EU nationality is required). Work permits ar not provided.

Candidates need to be based in Strasbourg or willing to relocate to Strasbourg. Candidates need to be fluent in English.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Deploy and manage applications, Kubernetes resources, and Helm charts within OpenShift environments;
• Configure OpenShift clusters and manage configurations through GitOps practices;
• Perform Unix-based deployment tasks and manage Kubernetes pods, routes, and application sets;
• Automate deployment workflows and platform configurations using Ansible Tower;
• Review and correct contractor-provided configurations to align with company standards;
• Act as a liaison between contractors (e.g., CSP) and the company, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues;
• Maintain and manage YAML configuration files;
• Implement and oversee GitOps workflows to ensure streamlined deployment processes and version control;
• Oversee application deployments using GitOps methodologies and Helm charts;
• Ensure deployment workflows across platforms are reliable, consistent, and efficient;
• Understand needs from different teams (e.g. infrastructure, software teams) and help to define the best practices that will help to reduce the gap between development and operations and improve the efficiency of the software development life cycle;
• Collaborate with contractors and IBM teams to resolve deployment and platform-related issues;
• Facilitate communication between teams to address technical challenges and enhance operations;

Profile:

• +7 years of IT experience;
• +4 years of experience as DevOps Engineer;
• A strong interest in infrastructure technologies with a willingness to learn and explore emerging trends;
• Familiarity with working in an agile software development environment;
• Hands-on experience with tools and platforms like OpenShift. (exp with Ansible and Terraform is an advantage);
• Proven track record of deploying applications and managing builds using tools like Argo CD, Red Hat Cluster Manager, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub and Openshift;
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift, including deployment, management, and scaling of containerized applications;
• Manage OpenShift configurations via GitOps;
• Proficiency with Docker and ServiceMesh technologies, ensuring smooth operation of microservices in a containerized environment;
• Experience in bash scripting for automation and task management;
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automating testing, building, and deploying applications;
• Experience working in on-premises environments (VMware);
• Strong ability to work in a collaborative environment, participating in design discussions and supporting cross-functional teams;
• Experience working in international/multicultural environments, demonstrating adaptability and collaboration;
• Analytical mindset to assess infrastructure performance and make data-driven recommendations;
• Jenkins: Familiarity with Jenkins for build automation (not essential but beneficial).
• Keycloak: Understanding of authentication and identity management using Keycloak.
• IBM Tools: deploying and managing IBM-specific tools and platforms.
• Confluence: Knowledge in using Confluence as knowledge management tool.
