ING Hubs Spain busca un Ingeniero DevOps Senior con experiencia en Cassandra para diseñar, construir y operar la plataforma KaaS en nuestra nube privada.

Trabajarás en el Global Cloud Tribe dentro de Data Services, colaborando con Product Manager y arquitecto; se valorará dominio de CI/CD, Python/Bash y VMware vSAN. Ofrecemos entorno ágil y beneficios ING para tu desarrollo profesional.

Formación

• Formación técnica, preferentemente en Tecnología de la Información.
• Nivel alto de inglés (C1) obligatorio.
• 5–10 años de experiencia en entornos operativos.
• Enfoque en entrega proactiva y atención al cliente.
• Experiencia en plataformas NoSQL (Cassandra).
• Conocimiento de vSAN en VMware es valorado.
• Dominio de scripting en Python/Bash para automatización.
• Conocimientos de Linux (RHEL).
• Competencia en herramientas CI/CD de Azure.
• Conocimiento de Ansible.
• Conocimientos de GoLang es deseable.

Responsabilidades

• Tomar propiedad de Cassandra Keyspace as a Service para inquilinos.
• Crear y mantener código en Azure DevOps Repositories.
• Familiarizarse con Agile/Scrum.
• Colaborar con equipos globales ING.
• Desarrollar una visión para mejorar despliegue y operaciones.
• Participar en guardia 24/7 una vez entrenado.
• Realizar tareas programadas para reducir el riesgo.

At ING Hubs Spain we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer Cassandra

Your role and work environment:

In the Global Cloud Tribe, in the Data Services area a position is available for a Senior DevOps Engineer Cassandra.

The team

The purpose of the Global Cloud Tribe is to build and run the target infrastructure platform in a (private) cloud delivery model. This delivery model is based on multi-tenant, self-service, pay-per-use capabilities for application DevOps teams as defined in ING’s ‘One Way of Working’.

The Global Cloud Tribe comprises five Global Areas:

• Infrastructure as a Service
• Data Services
• Integration Area
• Cloud API Management
• Container Area

The data Services Area provides Keyspace as a Service (KaaS) running on noSQL Cassandra. We do operate multitenant and dedicated Cassandra clusters.

KaaS is provided as a complete journey, our centre of expertise provides continued support and advice to teams using Cassandra. The data Services Area strives to be ahead of the game by keeping a close eye on all the metrics and logs to detect possible interruptions before they happen.

Tools like Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus are essential in our strive to provide a performant and resilient platform to our consumers.

Your key responsibilities:

With your pragmatic and delivery-oriented professional attitude, you put your background and experience to good use as an experienced engineer for the platform.

Together with the squad, the Product Manager and the architect, you design, build, test and maintain the KaaS related offerings in ING’s private cloud.

In addition, you use your automation experience and knowledge to propose solutions for modernizing and monitoring, to ensure robust and future proof operations and installations of our service.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will:

• Take ownership of Cassandra Keyspace as a Service that the squad provides to tenants
• Create and maintain code stored in Azure DevOps Repositories, distribute using the tools and pipelines
• Be familiar with Agile / Scrum way of work
• Be a strong team player and cooperate with global ING teams
• Develop a view on improving the deployment and operational methods for our platform/service
• Take part in our 24/7 standby schedule (once up to speed)
• On a regular basis take the Ops-person-of-the-day task
• Execute scheduled tasks that need to be executed to keep the risk score of the team’s services as low as possible

You are an energetic and proactive engineer with a true passion for IT and a positive “Do it-Try it-Fix it” mentality. You have good understanding of Dev/Ops and CI/CD. You are a natural team player who forms relationships based on social skills rather than hierarchical structure. As engineer you can share your knowledge in the team and coach other engineers when necessary.

Our ideal new colleague has:

• Technical education, preferably in Information Technology
• High level of English is a must (C1)
• 5-10 years of experience in operational environment
• Customer focused delivering proactive support
• Platform engineering and full stack experience is preferred
• Solid understanding of operating, maintaining and developing against NoSQL solutions (like Cassandra)
• Experience with vSAN storage layer in VMware is hugely beneficial
• Proficient to write scripts in languages like Python, Bash to automate daily tasks
• Good understanding of the Linux operating system (RHEL)
• Proficient in CI/CD tools from Microsoft Azure
• Proficient in configuration management tool (Ansible)
• Knowledge of GoLang is a nice to have
• Focused on delivering quality above quantity
• Strong conceptual understanding of the big picture is preferred
• Attention to detail
