ING Hubs Spain is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for Cassandra to own the Keyspace as a Service and collaborate with global ING teams. You will build, deploy, and operate the platform with a focus on reliability and scalability in a multi-tenant environment.

The role requires strong scripting, Linux (RHEL), and Azure DevOps expertise, along with a solid NoSQL Cassandra background. A hybrid work model and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Formación

• Technical education, preferably in Information Technology.
• High level of English (C1).
• 5–10 years in an operational environment.
• Customer-focused with proactive support.
• Platform engineering and full-stack experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of NoSQL (Cassandra).
• Experience with vSAN storage layer in VMware is beneficial.
• Proficient in scripting (Python, Bash).
• Good knowledge of Linux (RHEL).
• Proficient with Azure DevOps CI/CD tools and Ansible.
• GoLang is a nice-to-have.
• Delivery-focused, detail-oriented, and big-picture aware.

At ING Hubs Spain we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer Cassandra.

Your role and work environment:

In the Global Cloud Tribe, in the Data Services area a position is available for a Senior DevOps Engineer Cassandra. The purpose of the Global Cloud Tribe is to build and run the target infrastructure platform in a (private) cloud delivery model. This delivery model is based on multi-tenant, self-service, pay-per-use capabilities for application DevOps teams as defined in ING’s ‘One Way of Working’. The Global Cloud Tribe comprises five Global Areas: Infrastructure as a Service, Data Services, Integration Area, Cloud API Management, Container Area. The data Services Area provides Keyspace as a Service (KaaS) running on noSQL Cassandra. We do operate multi-tenant and dedicated Cassandra clusters. KaaS is provided as a complete journey, our centre of expertise provides continued support and advice to teams using Cassandra. The data Services Area strives to be ahead of the game by keeping a close eye on all the metrics and logs to detect possible interruptions before they happen. Tools like Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus are essential in our strive to provide a performant and resilient platform to our consumers.

Your key responsibilities:

• Take ownership of Cassandra Keyspace as a Service that the squad provides to tenants
• Create and maintain code stored in Azure DevOps Repositories, distribute using the tools and pipelines
• Be familiar with Agile / Scrum way of work
• Be a strong team player and cooperate with global ING teams
• Develop a view on improving the deployment and operational methods for our platform/service
• Take part in our 24/7 standby schedule (once up to speed)
• On a regular basis take the Ops-person‑of‑the‑day task
• Execute scheduled tasks that need to be executed to keep the risk score of the team’s services as low as possible

Our ideal new colleague has:

• Technical education, preferably in Information Technology
• High level of English is a must (C1)
• 5-10 years of experience in operational environment
• Customer focused delivering proactive support
• Platform engineering and full stack experience is preferred
• Solid understanding of operating, maintaining and developing against NoSQL solutions (like Cassandra)
• Experience with vSAN storage layer in VMware is hugely beneficial
• Proficient to write scripts in languages like Python, Bash to automate daily tasks
• Good understanding of the Linux operating system (RHEL)
• Proficient in CI/CD tools from Microsoft Azure
• Proficient in configuration management tool (Ansible)
• Knowledge of GoLang is a nice to have
• Focused on delivering quality above quantity
• Strong conceptual understanding of the big picture is preferred
• Attention to detail
