DWS Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer - Snowflake in Madrid to design, build and operate scalable data pipelines and platform components powering decision-making and analytics. You will collaborate with data governance teams, platform engineering, and business stakeholders to raise data quality and reliability.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in data engineering, deep Snowflake expertise, strong Python, and experience with dbt, Airflow, Terraform, and cloud platforms.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines and platform components that power decision-making, reporting, and enterprise analytics. You will work closely with data governance teams, platform engineering, and business stakeholders to raise the bar on data quality and reliability.Your responsibilities –As Senior Data Engineer - Snowflake, you will:Design and implement robust ELT pipelines using dbt on Snowflake, following established data modeling standardsBuild and maintain data products for core domains including fund accounting, positions, NAV, and regulatory reportingDefine and enforce data contracts, expectations and alerts withDesign and develop infrastructure components in Terraform or other IaC and infrastructure automation toolsCollaborate with architects, security engineers, control functions, the Chief Data Office and other stakeholder to improve compliance, security posture and reliabilityWork with product owners to translate product vision and demand into platform capabilitiesWe are looking for10+ years of experience in data engineering rolesDeep hands-on expertise with Snowflake, including architecture, performance tuning, Snowpark, OpenFlow and StreamlitStrong dbt proficiency (models, macros, packages, testing, deployment)Very strong Python skills for pipeline development and toolingExperience with common enterprise data modeling, such as dimensional modeling, SCD or Data VaultFamiliarity with cloud platforms (e.g. GCP), StreamSets and AirflowPrevious exposure to data governance tooling (e.g. Collibra)Understanding of asset management and the financial services data domain would be a plusStrong problem-solving skills, strategic thinking and attention to detailFluent in English (written and spoken)Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.What we’ll offer you:At DWS we’re serious about diversity, equity and creating an inclusive culture where colleagues can be themselves and it’s important to us that you enjoy coming to work - feeling healthy, happy and rewarded.
