Senior Data Engineer — Build Scalable Data Pipelines

Job summary

BESTSECRET Group is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and dbt in a fast-growing luxury fashion tech environment.

You will integrate data sources like Kafka and SQL Server into our data lake, monitor pipelines, and proactively fix root causes while continually improving data quality and platforms. Strong English communication and collaboration across teams are essential, with Spanish a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and delivering scalable data solutions.
• Strong SQL (ideally with dbt), Python, and a solid grasp of relational and columnar databases.
• Experience with modern data platforms such as Starburst/Trino, Databricks, or Snowflake, and comfort working in Linux and a major cloud (Azure, AWS, or similar).
• Strong English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams; Spanish is a plus.
• A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent practical experience is equally valued.
• Experience in e-commerce, retail, or logistics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines in Python and dbt.
• Integrate sources such as Kafka and SQL Server into our data lake.
• Take part in daily operations: monitor pipelines, investigate alerts, and fix root causes rather than symptoms.
• Adapt data products as business needs and upstream systems change.
• Contribute to engineering standards (testing, CI/CD, data quality) and support colleagues through code reviews and mentoring.
