Job summary

SystemsAccountants Inc. in Barcelona is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join its Research, Innovation & Labs function in Barcelona. You will design and build scalable data pipelines and modern data platforms to support cutting-edge research.

Collaborate with data scientists, engineers and business stakeholders to transform complex scientific datasets into reliable, accessible data that drives innovation and better decision-making.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in Data Engineering, ideally within scientific research, R&D or innovation environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, dbt, Spark and Databricks.
• Knowledge of Cypher and graph databases such as Neo4j.
• Experience designing and maintaining production-grade data pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Understanding of Git, CI/CD, infrastructure as code and modern development practices.
• Experience with scientific datasets, bioinformatics, cheminformatics or microbiome data would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of FAIR data principles, data governance and scientific data standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
