Agilent Technologies in Barcelona, Spain, is seeking a Senior Data Architect for the Scientific Data Platform. This full-time, on-site role leads the discovery and access of scientific data across products, workflows, and AI consumers.

You will own data access schemas, catalog models, and the read layer of a federated GraphQL gateway, collaborating with engineering to define contracts, governance, and modernization paths.

Formación

• 8+ years in software or data engineering, or architecture with distributed systems.
• Experience defining architecture ahead of governance with documented decisions.
• Owned architecture of production systems in data catalogs, search, or data access layers.
• Writes SQL and reads execution plans in PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
• Reads production code in typed languages and can build proof of concept.

Responsabilidades

• Define target state for catalog and access paths with contracts and integration patterns.
• Own schemas and contracts for data services, subgraphs, and versioned event schemas.
• Design authoritative data sources and provenance, with governance rules.
• Design access paths for AI agents and ensure secure, auditable access.
• Review integrations against contracts and participate in requirement changes.
• Plan modernization of legacy sources including on-premises to hybrid/cloud.
• Set performance targets for catalog and access paths and maintain up-to-date pipelines.
• Collaborate with engineering to clarify designs and review implementation plans.
• Document decisions with diagrams for engineers, PMs, and stakeholders.
