Job summary

Contact Government Services (CGS) seeks an experienced CommVault Data Protection Engineer to design, implement, and support backup and recovery solutions for a large-scale federal government environment.

You will work with WAN/LAN networks, Windows and Linux servers, and SQL databases, applying DISA STIGs and security practices while delivering reliable, scalable protection and timely responses to data recovery requests.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of Commvault data protection application.
Knowledge of LAN/WAN, Windows Server, Linux, SQL databases.
Experience with DISA STIGs and applying to Commvault related systems.
Security tasks including documentation, vulnerability scan review, patch management, and auditing.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, configure, integrate and secure backup, recovery and storage products over WAN in a complex environment.
Create and maintain optimal backup, restore and redundancy solutions for critical data.
Troubleshoot complex backup and recovery problems across networking, application, server, hardware and appliances.
Provide analytics, usage, capacity planning and reporting within the Commvault management and monitoring solution.
Implement regular security updates and patches to related backup servers and appliances per federal requirements.
Collaborate with operations to support enterprise infrastructure processes for backup, restore and data replication requests.
