Job summary

MiniMed is seeking a Senior Clinical Data Engineer to join our Bioinformatics team. You will design and optimize data pipelines, integrate diverse data sources, and transform raw data into analysis-ready datasets for clinical research and real-world studies.

The role requires strong SQL, Databricks, PySpark, and AWS Redshift experience, with the ability to work independently across multiple projects in a remote, international setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Statistics or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in clinical data engineering, data analytics, or related field.
• Strong experience with SQL development and query optimization in Databricks and AWS Redshift.
• Experience building data pipelines with Databricks, PySpark, AWS and Redshift.
• Experience with JSON and CSV formats.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, evaluate, and maintain data pipelines for clinical and device data.
• Build ETL/ELT solutions using Databricks, PySpark, SQL, and AWS services.
• Transform raw data into analysis-ready datasets for statistics and reporting.
• Collaborate with Biostatistics and study teams to meet analytical needs.
• Align data schemas with Medical Device and Software Engineering teams.
• Identify data quality issues and implement improvements.
• Support data management activities across multiple sources.
• Develop and execute data management plans to support timelines.
• Provide technical support for testing and training materials.
• Communicate timelines and deliverables to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Apply software engineering best practices (version control, CI/CD, code review).
• Manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
