LeoVegas Group in Málaga seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Sportsbook domain and help shape our backend architecture. You will collaborate with Staff Engineers, validate architectures, and drive scalable solutions across teams.

Responsibilities include owning problems end-to-end, designing and implementing from idea to production, and ensuring services are observable and production-ready through monitoring and on-call practices. Join a fast-paced, agile environment with a global team.

Formación

• 6+ years of software development experience with Java, Spring Boot and Event-Driven Architectures.
• Experience designing Microservices, Kubernetes and Containerization (Docker) and Kafka messaging systems.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and caching.
• Designing and maintaining monitoring dashboards (e.g., metrics, logs, traces) and alerts to proactively detect issues.
• Hands‑on experience developing highly scalable RESTful end-to-end Microservices.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join our dynamic team in Málaga as a Senior Backend Engineer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our Sportsbook domain, by working on the most impactful problems and being able to bring about change with effective momentum. You'll collaborate closely with our Staff Engineers, participating in tech meetings, validating architectural decisions, and ensuring seamless communication flow. Additionally, you'll work collaboratively with various teams, contributing to planning, tech solutions discussions, and feature development. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive solutions and actively shape our backend architecture.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• 6+ Years of software development experience with Java, Spring Boot and Event-Driven Architectures.
• Experience designing Microservices, K8s and Containerization (Docker) and Kafka messaging systems.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and caching.
• Designing and maintaining monitoring dashboards (e.g., metrics, logs, traces) and alerts to proactively detect issues.
• Hands‑on experience developing highly scalable RESTful end-to-end Microservices.

NICE TO HAVES:

• Familiarity with Reactive Programming (e.g. RxJava) and Vert.x would be a big plus.
• Experience in platforms like AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
• Online gaming and gambling experience
