Flexcompute is a fast-growing startup redefining engineering simulation with ultra-fast computing and scalable backend platforms. We seek a Backend Software Engineer to design and implement scalable solutions for an advanced EM simulation stack.

You will collaborate with EM and infrastructure teams, improve web APIs, and build hybrid cloud compute/storage for distributed workloads. The role emphasizes scalable backend services, containerized deployments, and robust Linux-based infrastructure,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or computer engineering.
• Experience in backend development with Java, Python or C++.
• Strong experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms and container orchestration.
• Hands-on with distributed systems, Linux, and infrastructure automation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to API unification and simulation data management (caching, syncing, storage).
• Collaborate with EM and infrastructure teams on back-end/scheduler integrations and Python front-end functionality.
• Design and implement scalable web APIs for simulation job orchestration and data access.
• Develop hybrid cloud compute and storage solutions, integrating on-prem HPC with cloud platforms.
• Optimize and manage HPC clusters with high-speed interconnects.
