Lighthouse in Ghent, Belgium, seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to drive the core pricing manager system, including overbooking autopilot and a new Recommendations Engine. You will build distributed services, APIs, and the infrastructure powering pricing recommendations, collaborating with data science engineers, PMs, and other engineers.

Formación

• Strong backend development skills with Go or Python/Django.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross‑functional squad with clear and transparent communication.
• An architectural mindset with clear opinions on service boundaries, data ownership, and technical tradeoffs.
• Hands‑on experience with AI coding tools like Claude Code, with a positive attitude toward integrating them into your workflow.
• A product‑minded approach, with a focus on understanding the user and business impact of your technical decisions.
• A proactive, collaborative, and ownership‑driven approach to your work.
• The ability to read, reason about, and contribute to frontend code when needed.
• Fluent in English.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain backend services for our pricing manager system.
• Build and manage distributed services, data pipelines, and autopilot infrastructure using Go and Python.
• Collaborate within a cross‑functional squad to deliver high‑quality features from concept to deployment.
• Influence decisions on service boundaries, data ownership, and architectural tradeoffs.
• Utilize Claude Code to accelerate development, documentation, and daily tasks.
• Contribute to the full development lifecycle, including frontend code contributions when needed.
• Ensure the reliability and performance of the pricing engine exposed to internal services.
