Quintall is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join its IT Digital Marketing team in Barcelona. You will design, build, and continually improve backend services and APIs that support digital marketing and sales capabilities.

As a senior member of an international Agile team, you will own backend solutions, contribute to architecture and standards, and collaborate with frontend engineers, product owners, platform teams, and business stakeholders across countries.

• Design, build, and maintain backend services, REST APIs, message-driven services, and database schemas.
• Develop business logic, domain services, and data-access layers in C#/.NET.
• Design integrations with WCMS, DAM, Marketing Automation, Consent Management, and Web Analytics.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment processes, and quality gates.
• Promote engineering practices such as automated testing, code reviews, versioning, CI, monitoring.
• Participate in Agile planning, estimation, and iterative delivery.
• Produce and maintain architecture decisions, API specs, integration designs, and runbooks.
• Analyze and resolve second-level support cases and root causes.

Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our IT Digital Marketing team within the Digital Sales Hub in Barcelona. In this role, you will design, build, and continuously improve backend services, APIs, databases, and integrations that support our digital marketing and sales capabilities.

You will develop scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-hosted solutions that enable data flows and business processes across platforms such as Web Content Management, Digital Asset Management, Marketing Automation, Consent Management, and Web Analytics.

As a senior member of an international Agile team, you will take technical ownership of selected backend solutions, contribute to architecture and engineering standards, and collaborate with frontend engineers, product owners, platform teams, and business stakeholders across different countries and functions.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain backend services, REST APIs, message-driven services, search capabilities, and database schemas supporting customer-facing digital products.
• Develop business logic, domain services, and data-access layers using C#, .NET, with a focus on scalability, security, observability, and fault tolerance.
• Design and implement integrations with external platforms and services, including WCMS, DAM, Marketing Automation, Consent Management, and Web Analytics solutions.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies, deployment processes, and quality gates.
• Apply and promote engineering practices such as automated testing, code reviews, versioning, continuous integration, monitoring and logging.
• Participate actively in Agile team activities and contribute to planning, estimation, and reliable iterative delivery.
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation, including architecture decisions, API specifications, integration designs, and operational runbooks.
• Analyse and resolve second-level support cases, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions to prevent recurring issues.

Requirements

Must-have:

• Professional experience in backend or software engineering with exposure to frontend integration, ideally in a digital marketing, digital sales, e-commerce, or customer-facing platform environment.
• Strong, hands-on programming experience with C# and the .NET ecosystem.
• Experience designing and building APIs (RESTful services) and working with relational databases.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and reliable software-delivery processes.
• Practical experience applying Test-Driven Development (TDD) and maintaining high-quality, well-tested codebases.
• Agile mindset and practical experience working in Scrum teams.
• Ability to communicate technical topics clearly and collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders in an international environment.
• Very good written and spoken English.

• Cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS and cloud-native services.
