Job summary

ISAGRI in Spain is seeking a senior backend developer to join a fully remote engineering team focused on the LEX, EFACT and Agroptima platforms. You will work mainly on backend systems, with opportunities to contribute to frontend or infrastructure when needed.

We value over 5 years of backend experience, microservices, and a passion for testing and pair programming. Fluent Spanish and good written English are required, and Django, RoR, or Phoenix experience is welcome.

ISAGRI is a Leader in Europe, with subsidiaries also in Canada and China, we have the ambition to be the world number 1 in computing for the agricultural, livestock and wine sector.

At Isagri we´re developing LEX, EFACT and Agroptima products:

• LEX is ISAGRI´s solution for wineries, focused on centralizing cellar management in one place. It helps users handle traceability, stock control, declarations, and official record books, following each litre from its arrival at the winery to its sale.
• EFACT is ISAGRI´s electronic invoicing software for farmers, livestock businesses, and wineries. It allows users to manage orders, delivery notes, and invoices while ensuring compliance with the Spanish Veri*factu regulation.
• Agroptima is ISAGRI´s farm management software designed to help farmers digitize fieldwork, record activities in real time, and manage farm operations through a mobile and web platform.

We have worked full-remote since 2014 and we are advocates of the well-done remote work, which is quite different from the rushed-by-covid remote work that most companies did.

For us, doing it well means having the right communication tools, ensuring that everything happens online, feeling the human proximity despite the distance (with different types of online social activities within working hours), etc. We are so passionate about it that the teammates on the team even gave a talk (in Spanish) about it some time ago - the video is on the top of this page.

We are seeking new team members who can contribute to the full stack. The main focus will be dedicated to the backend and you’ll also be able to develop the front-end, mobile app or infrastructure when the task requires it.

How we work

We are 18 people in the engineering team including development, design/UX, QA, product

• We do flexible 2-week sprints.
• We release code to production multiple times per day
• We love pair programming and TDD
• We do peer code reviews.
• Our backends uses Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Celery, Elixir, Phoenix
• Our frontends use Ember / React (web-app), Next.js, React Native (mobile app) and SQLite.
• Our infrastructure uses Docker, K8s, Heroku and Github actions

What you bring

• Experience (>5 years) in backend development with a mayor framework (Django, RoR, Phoenix...)
• Experience building and maintaining micro-services, distributed systems, event sourcing, etc...
• Some experience with functional programming paradigm.
• Collaborative person: a humble team player that likes to learn and teach.
• Practical mindset.
• Fluent in Spanish and good written English.
• Love pair programming.
• Can´t live without testing, ideally TDD.

• Good knowledge of design patterns, clean/hexagonal architecture
