HCLTech is seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer to design and develop robust backend solutions for omnichannel commerce, focusing on order management, inventory visibility and payment flows using Java 21 and the Spring ecosystem.

You will build and maintain microservices, design RESTful APIs, and collaborate with DevOps for CI/CD in a cloud-native environment. A Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS is required, with fluent English; permanent contract and opportunities for growth are offered.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience as a Java Software Engineer.
• Strong expertise in Java 21 and Spring ecosystem (Boot, Data JPA, Hibernate, Spring Cloud).
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with JSON, XML, GraphQL.
• Experience with omni-channel retail and e-commerce processes.
• Proficiency with MySQL and MongoDB.
• Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).
• Knowledge of AWS SQS, Solace, Pub/Sub architectures, OAuth2/OIDC, and Keycloak/Okta.

• Integrate with Order Management Systems and retail platforms across key flows.
• Maintain and improve services with high code quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot defects, integration issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with DevOps to enhance CI/CD, automation, and deployment processes.
• Support QA with automated testing and participate in Agile ceremonies.

Senior Java Backend Engineer - Omnichannel Commerce

• Analyse business and technical requirements to design and develop robust backend solutions supporting omni-channel retail and order management processes.
• Develop, test, debug, and deploy Java-based microservices, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Design and implement integrations with Order Management Systems and retail platforms, supporting key flows such as order orchestration, inventory visibility, fulfilment, returns, and payment flows.
• Maintain and improve existing services, ensuring high code quality, maintainability, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, integration issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Work with the DevOps team to implement and improve CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with QA Engineers to support testing strategies and contribute to automated testing.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives).

• 5+ years of experience as a Java Software Engineer, with strong expertise in Java 21 and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, Spring Cloud).
• Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs (OpenAPI/Swagger) and working with JSON, XML, and GraphQL.
• Experience building omni-retail and e-commerce solutions, including order lifecycle, inventory visibility, fulfilment, returns, payment flows.
• Proficiency with databases such as MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with containerized and cloud-native environments, including Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).
• AWS SQS, Solace, Pub/Sub architectures).
• Familiarity with security best practices including OAuth2, OIDC, and IAM solutions such as Keycloak and Okta
• Experience with modern development and testing tooling, including IntelliJ, SonarQube, Datadog, Insomnia, and the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence).
