Merck Healthcare is seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Architect to design scalable, secure cloud architectures for healthcare manufacturing and supply chain, turning business needs into reliable data, analytics, automation and AI solutions.

You will translate complex requirements into pragmatic designs, oversee platform architecture across a global matrix, and mentor teams while promoting responsible AI and observability practices.

Formación

• Master's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5–8 years of hands-on AWS cloud architecture and engineering.
• Experience with data warehousing, data lake and cloud analytics.
• Experience with AWS AI/ML services (SageMaker, Bedrock, etc.).
• Security-focused designs; CI/CD with Azure DevOps and Git; IaC with CloudFormation.
• 3+ years Docker/Kubernetes on AWS; knowledge of S3, Redshift, EMR.
• Strong Python, SQL and PySpark skills for data pipelines.
• Fluent English; AWS certifications desirable.

Your Role

Ready to shape the future of digital, data and information technology in healthcare manufacturing and supply chain? As Senior AWS Cloud Architect, you will design and implement scalable, secure and AI ready cloud architectures that turn business needs into reliable data, analytics, automation, machine learning and generative AI solutions. You will act as a trusted architectural partner for business and technology stakeholders, create reusable blueprints and engineering patterns, and guide internal and external teams from concept through delivery. Working across a global matrix, you will oversee platform architecture, strengthen automation and observability, support production solutions, and promote responsible adoption of cloud and AI capabilities.

You will translate complex requirements into pragmatic solution designs, implementation guidance and standards aligned with security, enterprise architecture and responsible AI principles. You will evaluate AWS services, build proof of concepts, define model integration and operationalization patterns, and provide third level support for manufacturing and supply chain applications. By mentoring colleagues and sharing knowledge, you will help teams deliver high quality solutions with the right balance of scalability, resilience, performance, reusability and cost efficiency.

Who You Are

• A master's degree in computer science, engineering, data science or a comparable discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Five to eight years of hands on experience in AWS cloud architecture and engineering, including at least three years working with data warehousing, data lake and cloud native analytics concepts.
• Practical experience with AWS artificial intelligence and machine learning services, including Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Glue, Step Functions, Athena, Redshift and EMR, or comparable enterprise platforms.
• Experience designing AI ready architectures with secure data access, model integration, prompt and API orchestration, retrieval augmented generation patterns, observability and responsible AI guardrails.
• Strong expertise in APIs, application deployment, integration patterns, continuous integration and continuous deployment using Azure DevOps and Git, plus infrastructure as code using CloudFormation or comparable tooling.
• At least three years of experience with container architectures, Docker and Kubernetes on AWS, together with strong knowledge of services such as S3, Redshift, RDS, Glue, Step Functions, Lambda and EMR.
• Strong Python, SQL and PySpark skills, with experience building scalable applications, data processing pipelines, monitoring, alerting, health checks and production grade solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, experience in agile delivery, mentoring and cross team collaboration, plus professional fluency in English. AWS certifications are highly desirable.
