The Opportunity

As part of the continued growth of Lamar Europe, we are seeking to appoint a Senior Associate / Associate Director – Investment to join our Madrid-based investment team.

This is afront-line investment role, with responsibility across the full transaction lifecycle, from deal origination and underwriting through execution, closing and value realisation. The role is intended for a high-calibre professional who combines strong technical capabilities with sound commercial judgement and the ability to operate autonomously within a lean investment platform.

Across Lamar, all professionals are expected to demonstrate strong intellectual curiosity, with a continuous focus on improving how work is done. This includes an active interest in leveraging data, technology and AI-enabled tools in day-to-day activities to enhance productivity, analytical depth and decision-making throughout the investment process.

The role offers direct exposure to senior decision-makers and active participation in investment committee processes, financing discussions and strategic execution across real estate investments in the EMENA region.

Key Responsibilities

• Deal Execution (End-to-End): full responsibility for executing transactions from initial sourcing and screening through underwriting, investment committee approval, closing and exit analysis.
• Underwriting & Financial Modelling: build, own and continuously refine complex development and investment models, including cash flow forecasting, sensitivities and return analysis.
• Transaction Analysis: evaluate investment opportunities across residential and mixed-use assets, including pricing, capital structure optimisation and risk assessment.
• Financing & Capital Structuring: support and coordinate senior and mezzanine debt processes, prepare lender materials and engage with banks, debt funds and advisors.
• Investment Committee Materials: prepare and present high-quality investment memoranda, valuation summaries and decision materials.
• Due Diligence Management: coordinate and critically review commercial, financial, legal and technical due diligence alongside external advisors.
• Market & Asset Intelligence: conduct deep market research, competitive benchmarking and thematic analysis to support investment theses.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience Level: 5–7 years of experience in real estate private equity, investment banking, principal investing or a comparable investment role.
• Execution-Driven: demonstrated experience taking deals from sourcing through execution, not limited to execution support.
• Analytical Excellence: advanced financial modelling and investment analysis capabilities.
• AI-Native & Curious: naturally curious about new technologies, with a strong interest in AI and its practical application in day-to-day investment work. Constantly up to date on new tools and approaches that enhance productivity and decision-making.
• High-Performance Mindset: comfortable working in a lean team with high accountability and ownership.
• Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Real Estate or a related field.
• Languages: Fluency in English required; Spanish strongly preferred. Additional languages are a plus.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 12 months, the Senior Associate / Associate Director will be a core contributor to Lamar Europe’s investment platform, independently leading underwriting and execution workstreams, actively contributing to financing and investment committee processes, and helping shape Lamar’s evolution as a nimble, AI-driven real estate investment firm in EMENA.
