Pleo is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to shape AI-powered product features, collaborating with engineers and data scientists to move ideas from prototype to production. You will leverage Pleo’s 40,000+ customers and vast spend data to create real product value across the platform.

You will join a team led by the Senior Manager for Data & AI Products, contributing to the full AI lifecycle, from design to deployment, while ensuring production readiness and robust data pipelines.

Formación

• Proven experience shipping customer-facing AI features using LLMs.
• Deep practical experience with RAG system design and retrieval pipelines.
• Experience building and operating evaluation frameworks for LLM-based systems.
• Strong Python engineering; production-grade, tested code.
• Experience building APIs and data retrieval pipelines that feed context into AI systems.
• Ability to reason about data quality, schema, and retrieval architecture.
• Experience with agentic system patterns: tool use, multi-step orchestration, error handling in LLM workflows.
• Familiarity with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP).
• We work with Kotlin and Python; openness to contributing in Kotlin when needed.

Responsabilidades

• Build and ship AI-powered features for Pleo’s customers, owning outcomes end-to-end.
• Design and build end-to-end RAG systems for product use cases.
• Own the full AI-product lifecycle from prompt design to deployment.
• Build evaluation datasets and automated eval pipelines for QA of AI features.
• Instrument AI features for production observability and drift detection.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to scope features from first principles.
• Partner with GenAI Platform team to identify infrastructure needs.
• Mentor and support other engineers through reviews and pairing.
