Job summary

eightbit experts GmbH in Spain seeks an experienced Android Developer to contribute to a modern mobile application. You will work with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, MVVM and REST APIs, taking ownership of features and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to build scalable mobile solutions.

The role requires 5+ years of native Android experience, solid Kotlin expertise, and familiarity with Coroutines, Flow, Retrofit, and testing tools. English is essential; Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin and modern Android tech.
• Solid experience with Jetpack Compose, MVVM and lifecycle components.
• Experience with Coroutines, Flow and asynchronous programming.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs using Retrofit or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with testing tools such as JUnit and Mockito and Git workflows.
• Good understanding of mobile app architecture, UI, accessibility and secure coding.
• Ability to take ownership of features and solve technical challenges.
• Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams.
• Fluent English; Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance native Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and MVVM.
• Independently implement features throughout the development cycle from refinement to deployment.
• Connect mobile apps to backend services via REST APIs (Retrofit or similar).
• Work with Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous operations and state management.
• Develop reusable UI components focusing on usability and accessibility.
• Ensure code quality with unit tests, code reviews and troubleshooting.
