Pluxee Spain, a global leader in Employee Benefits and Engagement, seeks a Senior Accounting Lead in Madrid. You will lead day-to-day accounting, ensure IFRS/local GAAP compliance, and support month-end, audits, and improvements.

Hybrid work model available with strong focus on accuracy and control. The role requires 8–12 years in accounting, IFRS expertise, and experience with audits in a multinational setting.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8–12 years of progressive experience in Accounting and Financial Reporting.
• Experience with IFRS reporting and statutory accounting requirements.
• Experience in a multinational environment with audits.
• Big 4 audit experience is highly preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes with accuracy.
• Prepare statutory and management financial statements under IFRS and local GAAP.
• Act as IFRS subject matter expert for complex accounting matters.
• Prepare technical accounting assessments and position papers.
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Collaborate with Controlling, Consolidation, Treasury, and Business teams.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely documentation.
• Support finance transformation initiatives and system enhancements.

Senior Accounting Lead is responsible for leading and executing the day-to-day accounting activities of the Spanish entity, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with IFRS and local GAAP, and a robust control environment. The role acts as the accounting subject matter expert, supporting month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, statutory reporting, audits, and accounting-related projects. The Senior Accountant Lead partners closely with local and Group Finance teams to ensure high-quality financial reporting and compliance with corporate policies.

• Coordinate and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Group reporting timelines.
• Ensure the preparation of statutory and management financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP.
• Act as the subject matter expert on IFRS, providing guidance on complex accounting matters and new business initiatives.
• Prepare and document technical accounting assessments and accounting position papers.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Collaborate closely with Controlling, Consolidation, Treasury, and Business teams to ensure high-quality financial reporting.

Audit, Governance & Risk

• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely delivery of supporting documentation.
• Maintain strong internal controls across accounting processes.
• Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
• Identify accounting risks and support remediation actions when required.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members where applicable.
• Collaborate with Group Finance and Group Tax teams to ensure alignment with corporate policies and strategic objectives.
• Support finance transformation initiatives and system enhancements.
• Act as the accounting subject matter expert for the Spanish entity.
• Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day activities of the accounting team, ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality execution of accounting processes and reporting deliverables.
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting team members when applicable.
• Collaborate with Group Finance teams to ensure alignment with reporting requirements and accounting policies.
• Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, process optimization, and system enhancements.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Work Experience

• 8–12 years of progressive experience in Accounting and Financial Reporting.
• Previous experience within a Big 4 Audit practice is highly preferred.
• Experience within a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS reporting and statutory accounting requirements.
• Experience managing internal and external audits.
• Experience in regulated industries is considered an asset.

Other Skills

• Solid knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP.
• ERP experience (Navision).
• Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills.
