Job summary

Cognex is seeking a Principal Software Engineer in Girona, Spain, to join a small, experienced team developing 3D smart camera solutions. You will work on acquisition interfaces, GUI configuration tools, and visualization tasks, influencing the future Cognex platform.

You will mentor others, design shared 3D visualization libraries, and help evolve the platform across Cognex’s 3D products. A strong background in C++ and embedded software is required, with English fluency and Catalan knowledge a

Qualifications

10+ years of software development experience.
Strong C++ programming skills with embedded systems experience.
Experience with ARM and embedded platforms is essential.
Knowledge of machine vision or image processing is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and implement software for 3D smart cameras (frontend and backend C/C++ libraries).
Develop C/C++ on embedded systems (ARM).
Integrate new 3D sensors and cameras into Cognex In-Sight platform.
Contribute to 3D visualization libraries and platform components.
Shape the design of the new common platform for future Cognex products.
Evolve 3D visualization library across Cognex 3D products.
Write features and automated tests to ensure quality and reliability.
Mentor team members and promote best practices.
