Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Security Specialist Intern to support day-to-day physical security operations in AWS data centers. You will work with security vendors, analyze operational data, and propose improvements to surveillance, access controls, and procedures.

This 2027 internship is full-time (40 hours/week) for 12 weeks, with on-site work and potential pathways to full-time roles based on performance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Risk Management, Security Management, Criminology or a related field, graduating in 2027
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work well with others in a team environment, with strong time management skills
• Own vehicle is recommended as reliable transportation to the data center facility (note: public transit option is not available)
• Spanish Security Director TIP would be required for full time position

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with vendors involved in new security construction, repairs, daily security operations and patrols, and planning
• Analyze security metrics and data to identify trends and recommend improvements
• Make suggestions on improving electronic surveillance systems and access controls
• Help develop and deliver guidance to data center occupants on reducing false alarms
• Write reports and create presentations on the status of physical security operations for management
• Assist with planning and coordinating security-related projects
• Support incident documentation and follow-up processes
