TOPIC Embedded Systems in the Netherlands is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design and build test infrastructure for embedded systems. You will work with C++ and Python, collaborating with software engineers on high-tech projects to ensure testable, scalable software.

You will design automated tests across levels, contribute to production code, and help shape testing strategies. The role is a permanent contract with a hybrid work model and relocation support.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/Embedded Systems or similar.
• 5 years of work experience in the high-tech domain.
• Experience with Python, C++, and/or C# and OO principles.
• Hands-on experience with test automation.
• Familiarity with Robot Framework and testing methodologies (TDD, BDD, keyword-driven, data-driven, model-based, property-based).
• You are a team player, proactive, and proficient in English; Dutch preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain test frameworks and automation tooling using C++ and/or Python.
• Contribute to production code and testability improvements with software engineers.
• Develop automated tests across unit, integration, and system levels.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines and test infrastructure for fast feedback.
• Analyze complex systems and trace root causes in code.
• Promote testability, observability, and quality-by-design in development teams.
• Work on embedded/hardware-software integration and distributed systems.
• Own architectural decisions around test tooling.
• Continuously improve automation strategy with scalability in mind.
