Airbus Defence and Space SAU is seeking a highly skilled SAP Technical & Service Delivery Specialist with deep SAP Basis expertise and hands-on S/4HANA experience. The role combines technical SAP operations with end-to-end service delivery management for SAP Hosting.

You will manage SAP landscape provisioning, upgrades, and host infrastructure, coordinating with providers and internal teams to ensure mission-critical SAP availability and performance from our Madrid-area operations.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as SAP Basis Administrator or Technical Specialist with strong S/4HANA focus.
• Demonstrated experience in Service Delivery Management, including provisioning and lifecycle management of enterprise-scale server infrastructure.

Responsabilidades

• Perform SAP Basis administration tasks including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of S/4HANA systems.
• Monitor SAP system performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Ensure SAP Transport Management System and smooth deployment of changes.
• Troubleshoot complex SAP S/4HANA issues across database, OS, and application layers.
• End-to-End Service Delivery: manage SLAs, KPIs, change requests, and service improvements for SAP hosting.
• Configure and provision high-performance compute, memory, and storage for SAP HANA workloads.
• Drive deployment automation with Ansible, Terraform, and related tools.
• Lifecycle and capacity management for server hardware/VM lifecycles.
• Coordinate with infrastructure teams for seamless SAP hosting integration.
• Participate in SAP project implementations and system landscape transformations.
• Collaborate with functional, development, and infrastructure teams to ensure SAP operations.
• Document configurations, workflows, and troubleshooting steps.
• Provide technical support to end-users and IT teams.

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Technical & Service Delivery Specialist with expertise in S/4HANA to join our team at Airbus Defence and Space SAU. This role is unique in its dual focus: providing deep SAP Basis expertise while acting as service delivery manager (SAP Hosting) coordinating our service providers supporting our SAP landscape. The successful candidate will not only support and evolve our SAP systems but will also own the end‑to‑end service delivery (SAP Hosting) required for our mission‑critical operations.

Job Responsibilities

SAP Technical Operations

• Perform SAP Basis administration tasks, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of S/4HANA systems.
• Monitor SAP system performance, availability, and stability, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Ensure SAP transport management system (TMS) and ensure smooth deployment of changes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to SAP S/4HANA, including database, operating system, and application layers.

Server Delivery & Infrastructure Management

• End-to-End Service Delivery: Managing SLAs, KPIs, change request and service improvement initiative focusing on related server assets, from capacity planning and hardware/virtual specification to deployment and integration into the production landscape.
• Infrastructure Orchestration: Ensure the provisioning and configuration of high-performance compute, memory, and storage resources specifically optimized for SAP HANA workloads.
• Deployment Automation: Drive the use of automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) to streamline the delivery of SAP application servers and database nodes.
• Lifecycle & Capacity Management: Proactively manage server hardware/virtual lifecycles, ensuring capacity meets future SAP growth requirements and managing technical upgrades of the underlying infrastructure.
• Vendor & Environment Integration: Coordinate with infrastructure teams to ensure seamless delivery of server components and successful integration into the Airbus network and security perimeter.

Collaboration & Documentation

• Participate in SAP project implementations, migrations, and system landscape transformations.
• Collaborate with functional teams, developers, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless SAP operations.
• Document technical configurations, server delivery workflows, and troubleshooting steps.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT teams.

Job Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an SAP Basis Administrator or Technical Specialist with a strong focus on S/4HANA.
• Demonstrated experience in Service Delivery Management, including the provisioning, deployment, and lifecycle management of enterprise‑grade server infrastructure.

Technical Skills

• In-depth knowledge of SAP HANA database administration and its specific hardware/resource requirements.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation tools used for server provisioning and configuration management.
• Strong understanding of enterprise server architecture (Compute, Storage, Networking) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Nutanix, or Cloud‑native environments).
• Experience with SAP system hosting environments (on‑premise, cloud, hybrid).
• Strong understanding of SAP architecture, infrastructure components, and integration points.

Soft Skills & Certifications

• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills with a "delivery-focused" mindset.
• Ability to work independently and manage complex technical delivery timelines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating between SAP functional teams and Infrastructure vendors.
• SAP certifications in Basis or HANA are a plus.
• Certifications in Cloud Architecture (AWS/Azure) or Infrastructure Automation are a significant advantage.
